Milkweed pods have never been so plump. Great bumper crop year for milkweed seed.

2024 Season was incredible, gardens are being prepared for next season and this farmer is looking forward to a winter of rest. For real the flower farm is closed now. I sent this out this morning and chopped all my dahlias down! Need to let them focus on tuber production untill frost.

Wowzers my barn looks good on the front of the Barns of West Nipissing Calendar!

My studio even made it into this gorgeous 2025 calendar. They were available at the rodeo I am hoping the co-op will have more for sale 🤩

In true Maple fashion she insisted on being the center of attention today! (EFAO tour day 🥴).

Welcoming baby Lester into the world took a village and happened right before the tour arrived.

Full breech birth that was very traumatic, I couldn’t pull him out, she couldn’t push him out.

It was time to call a friend or…3, Nathan Parker and Neighbour ❤️ Leslie Vezina saved the day and the calves life!!!! They both pulled with all thier might and had to use a rope, but they got him out.

I bawled like a baby, alive calf, alive mom.

Long recovery ahead for Maple, poor thing. Sometimes things really don’t go as planned.

So many thank yous… to my Cattle mentors Rheanon Medland and Trav for talking me through the situation and rushing over some supplies.

So grateful for the attendees of the Ecological Farmers Association of Ontario - EFAO tour for thier patience and understanding while we detoured and checked on the new mom and calf.

A million thanks to those that stayed behind at the end Aimée Jeannise, Audi Reyy, Clare Risse and Bon Bon to help me get Momma Maple standing, baby Lester drinking and move them into the shade.

💡💡💡It takes a village sometimes. Building community and friendships might be the greatest part of this crazy farming/ homesteading Lifestyle.

Big Fat Sunflower bouquets went out early today, headed to all our Clickfork customers 🌻.

Sunflowers are certainly the heaviest flowers, my arms got a good work out putting all these together.

That rain snuck up on me real quick. Mad dash to harvest for a last minute order.

As the sky turned black and the rain started I got them into the studio just in time. 😅

Picture me in a mad dash with snips in my hand, running across the property. The dogs all standing watching me confused.

I will share the finished arrangement in my stories after it has been received by the end client 😉

I am Kaila, the flower farmer.

A regular middle aged women that worked hard for many years to make all her dreams come true and works even harder now 💫

For the last 4 years I have had the pleasure to share all across the north the thing that brings me the most happiness, my Flowers.💐

Flowers help brighten the saddest of days, offer joy, passion or comfort.

This seasons blooms are so robust and healthy. It must be all that cattle manure !😁

I am deeply enjoying this current season while planning for the next.
