Passengers traveling to the the Philippines

The Government will transition the old e-Arrival CARD Registration to a new e-Travel Registration, which travelers may access via a new portal (https://etravel.gov.ph) replacing the old www.onehealthpass.com.ph.

Please note that this e-Travel Registration is a mandatory requirement for arrival in the Philippines, imposed by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

To avoid long lines at the airport, we highly encourage you to fill out the e-Travel Registration within 72 hours prior to departure from your country of origin.

Due to heavy headwinds, flight PR119, January 20, 2023, from YYZ to MNL will have payload limitations.
Because of this, we are compelled to limit the acceptance of passenger baggage on your flight.

Economy Passengers will still be entitled to two pieces of checked baggage at 23 kgs (50 lbs) per piece.
The first piece will be loaded on your flight, however, the second checked bag will need to be loaded on the next available flight.
Please approach the Baggage Assistance Desk upon arrival in Manila so you can provide the bag delivery address.

When you check in for your flight at YYZ, you will be asked to identify the bag that will be loaded on the flight and the bag that will be offloaded.

We highly encourage you to put the essential items in the first bag, as it will take a few days before we can deliver your second bag as the next flight will not be until January 22, 2023, and arrival in Manila will be on January 24, 2023. It will be delivered within 24 to 48 hours upon arrival in Manila.

Very pleased to report that my first time flying with Swoop Airlines (Halifax to Toronto) was a pleasant surprise.

Swoop Airlines is a low cost air carrier based out of Canada that has routes not only within Canada but to destinations in the USA and the Caribbean.

You pay a lower cost because if you want extras - luggage, seat selection, anything to eat or drink, etc, - you pay extra for it.

As for the reliability of Swoop Airlines, delays can happen with any airline, and Swoop is no different. We arrived 20 minutes late but I didn’t mind because the service otherwise was so good.

(Ops!.. love the pink same colour of my nails! ;-)

Effective today April 1, fully-vaccinated travellers will no longer need any pre-departure test, nor are they subject to quarantine upon arrival.

Unvaccinated and partially-vaccinated travellers with a right to enter Canada must continue submitting a negative pre-departure antigen or molecular test and are subject to arrival testing and quarantine. All travellers, regardless of vaccination status, must continue submitting their information on the ArriveCAN application.

Starting May 1, Air Canada will offer non-stop flights between Halifax Stanfield and Vancouver International Airport with service up to five times weekly!

This new service is a positive step towards strengthening our domestic connectivity, providing more choice for our passengers, and boosting tourism to the region. It also provides Atlantic Canadians with convenient connections to western North America, Asia, and the South Pacific.

Good News!

Philippines is reopening to international tourists with No Hotel Quarantine for those who are fully vaccinated!

Effective February 01, 2022, the entry, testing, and quarantine protocols for international arriving Filipinos and foreign nationals allowed entry into the country shall be as follows, regardless of their origin country:

FULLY VACCINATED
• Negative RT-PCR test result taken within 48 hours prior to departure from the country of origin
• No facility-based quarantine required
• Self-monitor for any sign or symptom until the 7th day from arrival

UNVACCINATED, PARTIALLY VACCINATED, UNVERIFIED
• Negative RT-PCR test result taken within 48 hours prior to departure from the country of origin
• Facility-based quarantine until the release of the negative results
• 5th day swabbing
• Self-monitor for any sign or symptom until the 14th day from arrival

DOCUMENTS YOU NEED FOR YOUR TRIP TO MANILA

- MANDATORY E-HEALTH DECLARATION CARD

All travelers, including children, are required to register to the Bureau of Quarantine e-Health Declaration Card (e-HDC) up to 24 hours before their departure to the Philippines.

- MANDATORY ACCOMMODATION BOOKING FOR VACCINATED TRAVELERS.

Vaccinated travelers arriving from selected countries must have proof of pre-booked accommodation for at least 8 days in an accredited quarantine hotel/facility before traveling to the Philippines.

- MANDATORY HEALTH DECLARATION FORM

Travelers are required to complete an eCIF form at least 3 days before their arrival in the Philippines.

- MANDATORY CONTACT TRACING APP

Travelers are required to download and register an account in the TRAZE Contact Tracing App prior to entering the airport. Travelers without a phone may get a unique QR code from a Malasakit helpdesk.

- PROOF OF A NEGATIVE PRE-DEPARTURE COVID-19 TEST RESULT

Travelers are required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result taken a maximum of 48 hours before departure to the Philippines.

- MANDATORY PROOF OF VACCINATION

Vaccinated travelers must have received all vaccine doses required at least 2 weeks before travel.
Travelers must have a vaccination certificate that can be verified by Philippine authorities as valid or authentic.

Please be informed that all passengers will be required to wear Face Shield on top of the mandatory face mask in compliance with the Philippine Department of Transportation latest guidelines for public transport sector.

Passengers are required to wear masks and face shields in all phases of the flight. No Face Mask and No Face Shield will not be allowed to check in.

Great news! Effective today, November 22, passengers arriving in Philippines from a “Yellow Country” (which Canada is one) are now only required to quarantine in a hotel for 3 days with a negative RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours of departure. This is down from 6 days previously.

Find Out If You’re Ready To Board!

To board your flight if you’re 12 years of age or older, you must:
Be fully vaccinated with accepted vaccines Be ready at any point in your journey to show your official proof of vaccination Have received your second dose at least 14 full days prior to the day you travel Have no signs or symptoms of COVID-19 Wear a mask

Transition Period:
From October 30 through November 29, there is a short transition period when travellers who don’t qualify as fully vaccinated will be able to travel if they can show a valid COVID-19 molecular test taken within 72 hours of travel.

Starting November 30, a negative COVID-19 test will no longer be accepted as an alternative to vaccination. Travellers should make plans now to ensure they are fully vaccinated before November 30.

All travellers to Canada must submit all required COVID-19 information electronically into prior to travel to Canada.

Philippines announced that facility-based quarantine for fully-vaccinated foreigners and Filipinos upon arrival in the Philippines is no longer required if arriving from a "green" country.

Unfortunately, Canada 🇨🇦 is not yet
on the green countries list. So foreigners and Filipinos arriving in the Philippines from Canada still need to quarantine by pre booking a hotel for a 6 day quarantine on arrival.

Starting today, October 4, in Nova Scotia, public health is encouraging people to print a new immunization card that includes a QR code -- a new federal standard that became available for Nova Scotians as proof of vaccine becomes mandatory to eat at a restaurant, go to the movies or the gym.

Vaccine passports have been rolled out across Canada, This credential can be used for international travel also.

Canada's main airlines have agreed to cancel service to the Caribbean and Mexico and the federal government is introducing new mandatory quarantine rules as it tries to discourage international travel.

The prime minister said the government will soon be introducing mandatory PCR testing at the airport for people returning to Canada "as soon as possible in the coming weeks."

Travellers will then have to wait up to three days at a government-approved hotel for their test results, at their own expense, which Trudeau said is expected to be more than $2,000.

Canadian insurer Manulife Financial Group
will restore some coverage for coronavirus-related trip interruptions in a new travel insurance policy that also includes COVID-19 in its emergency medical coverage.

The policy will launch in October for Canadians traveling domestically and internationally, including to countries subject to a level 3 travel advisory, Canada's biggest life and travel insurance company said on Wednesday.

WestJet announced it is introducing a new Free COVID-19 Travel Insurance coverage to help eligible travelers cover the cost of medical and quarantine expenses for select destinations.

The offer is available for travelers booking to Mexico, the Caribbean, and select European destinations, including the United Kingdom.

Coverage will be automatically applied at no additional charge to eligible guests at the time of purchase for travel until August 31, 2021 for up to 21 days. One-way travel reservations will also be eligible for coverage for up to seven days.
