I love being creative and coming up with new and different ideas. We inspire each other, and the visuals we come across through life stay with us.

I notice that my design ideas often trace back to imagery I’ve seen in childhood. The jewellery my grandparents wore, the colours, the artwork hung on their walls, the movies we watched.

Nothing is new. We always take from what we have seen. But combining those concepts and coming up with something unique, creating things that haven’t been seen before are what truly inspires. ✨

I’d like to share a little about the first photo shoot that I planned. ✨

When I first started this business, I needed some photos for the website and to show my work! I got started on designing a tablescape, reaching out to some amazing vendors and securing a location for the shoot.

Once I had those details worked out, I thought.. I’ve come this far, maybe I should add a bride and groom. I asked my friends and real-life married couple Jess and Mike to be part of it, and they agreed. (shoutout to my besties!)

I rented a truck and drove it to the vineyard venue I had chosen to use as a storage container for the furniture and rental items.

On shoot day, Jess and I got our makeup and hair done and we headed to the venue. It was the hottest day of the year!

It then rained. We persevered and somehow got all the shots in. Thanks to Ariana the photographer and my friends who were in the trenches with me, setting up, drying off and staying late to help me.

It was a gruelling day, and I was so relieving when it was over, all the rentals were packed away into the rental truck, and could head home.

The photos turned out amazingly. I submitted them to Today’s Bride, who decided to print them in their upcoming magazine issue. 🎉

I still love what we did and can’t wait to share some new projects soon. ✨

Let’s talk about MUSIC! ✨

There are three main parts of your day to consider music for.

Ceremony

I love live musicians as part of your ceremony. If this is outside of your budget, the ceremony is a good time to use a playlist. Make sure you have about half an hour’s worth of songs for while people are arriving and seating (the prelude). You’ll also need songs selected for:
• processional
• bride’s processional
• signing
• recessional

Cocktail Hour

This is the area often forgotten about! You can have musicians play here (especially if it’s the same location as your ceremony), a DJ, or a playlist.

Reception

Here you will want a DJ and perhaps a band for during the dance floor! Have songs selected for your introductions into the room and first dances.

For this late Summer wedding in Niagara-on-the-Lake, the couple wished for a modern and private venue, brightly coloured flowers, and handmade, personal elements.

We looked to create the perfect balance of textures and colours that would suit the the couple, work well in the space, and achieve the bright and magical vibe they were dreaming of.
