🌼 The Wild Daisy is my favourite flower to preserve. I love it because it’s cheerful and reminds me of childhood when we played “he loves me, he loves me not” while plucking the petals.

Being an artist means realizing that not everyday is going to be filled with inspiration and creativity, but the best part is that when you take the time to notice the little joyful things in your day, it really helps. After some major reflection, lots of time in the garden & moving my body I’m feeling so much joy towards the next chapter in my business.

Right now, I’m deep in the re-rooting stage, there’s so much going on under the surface but those beautiful blooms are coming very soon 😍.

What inspires your life & work lately??? If you’re not feeling the joy, you have the ability to make the change.. even if it feels like a small one for now, it can make a huge impact over time. 🌸🌱🪏🧑‍🌾

My full moon ritual has been to create these floral moons each season, celebrating the changes and letting go of the season past.

My art is always changing, evolving and flowing with the seasons, lately I’ve been enjoying pressing more untraditional botanicals and now that strawberries are in full bloom, I’m excited to explore preserving the stages, from blossom to berry.

Lupins are easily one of the most felt flowers I press. They’re everywhere on the east coast right now, and they always seem to work their way into my artwork and products. 🌸

Lately, life feels like it’s blooming all at once (in the garden and in my studio). I’ve been trying to slow down, quiet my mind, and be more intentional with where I put my energy.

I don’t always share the ups and downs of business, but they’re definitely there. I try to move with the seasons, make little adjustments as I go, and like the wild lupins, grow, bloom, drop some seeds for next season, and start again. It’s kind of a beautiful process, right?

Cape Blomidon
This piece is my artistic take on one of Nova Scotia’s most iconic views and a place that holds so much meaning for those of us who call the Annapolis Valley home.

I didn’t want to just recreate the landscape. I wanted to capture how it feels to stand here, admiring the view. Every part of this piece was pressed and arranged using flowers and foliage grown right here in the Valley. The cliffside? It’s made from pressed grapevine leaves 🍇 🍷 what could be more fitting than showing this piece off at Lucketts Vineyard, with the view of Blomidon in the distance?

From wildflowers to local farm-grown blooms, each petal tells the story of this place. It’s a piece of home, made to be shared.

The original artwork has sold, but prints and enlargements are available in the shop. If you’re looking to bring a little piece of the Valley into your space, this one carries a whole lot of heart.
