FINALLY!! I’m Back in my fave place tomorrow 🌸🌷🌼🌿

After taking a little hiatus from markets I’m back to this week - Sat 8:30-1pm.

You’ll find me in the community room the 2nd weekend of each month! I’m excited to see my market friends, pick up all my family’s favourite local food and chat about flowers, spring (yes it’s coming) and all the good that’s to come 🥰.

BTS of the Spring Collection 🐦🪺🐦‍⬛🐥🦅

Business is slow but creativity is high and that’s what matters most right now, it gives me the time and space to dream freely and create without pressure.

I have LOTS more ideas being sketched out, but what I want to know from you is if I could make ANYTHING out of flowers, what would you want to see??? 👀🌼🖌️🖼️🌸

Creating with flowers from seasons past keeps be going during these cold winter days.

The 2025 Spring Collection is coming together and I’m more excited than ever to start sharing some sneak peeks. I often tend to keep new designs top secret until they are ALL done and online for sale (which won’t be til April), so I’m wondering if you feel the same or do you want to see what’s currently on my studio counter😍

I don’t know about you but I really need something to look forward to right now… with it being storm day #536884 🥶❄️🌨️ is it time to share?! 🐣

Over the years, I’ve created many pressed flower hearts as a symbol of love that never fades.

This year, I didn’t create a new Valentine’s collection (oops), but the gift of forever flowers is always a possibility. Whether it’s an original piece from my collection or a custom bouquet preservation, blooms tell a story—one that lasts well beyond a single day.

Sending much love to you all today. May you find beauty in every petal, every memory, and every moment.

PS - Stay tuned for a little blog post on how you can try preserving your own Valentine’s Day rose🌹

As a graphic designer, I grew tired of the digital work—I wanted to make art with my hands, step away from the screen and create more meaningful work. I started pressing botanicals purely for the fun of it, but quickly realized that the childhood activity brought me joy and their paper like texture translated well into digital art.

My goal? At first was to create something that couldn’t be replicated digitally (AI I’m looking at you) but today it’s to create meaningful, nature-inspired paper goods that help people connect with nature and memories through handwritten notes and the beauty of flowers.

Fast forward seven years, and what started as a single card idea has grown into a full line of greeting cards, art prints, and gifts carried in shops across Canada. And this weekend, I headed to my first wholesale show with to share my entire collection with retailers looking for something unique for their stores.

If you’re a shop owner who loves flowers, art and values Canadian-made, I’d love to connect.

Are you planning to or did you choose local for your wedding bouquet???

There are lots of buzz about local lately and I’m here to share bit of what I do to do my part as a small business owner when you book my services.

🌸 I partner with local growers and women owned businesses for flowers and always say that fresh is best, which means when you choose mostly local flowers over imports for your wedding bouquet, your final artwork is brighter and has less wilting, browning and are flowers are less likely to fall apart during the drying process.

🌸 Your frames are locally made! A few years back the quality and availability of commercially produced frames was a struggle and I hated paying big companies to frame my artwork… it didn’t align with my brand values. All my frames are made from pine (yes, pine… because wood is very expensive) and, the frames are custom finished here in studio.

Most days these small practices don’t feel like they make much impact, and its impossible to do it perfectly all the time (we can’t grow flowers in the winter🥶), but I’m proud I’ve built a business and life around these values and know when we all do a little, it adds up.

Hi! I’m Ashley Foster, the artist behind the pressed flower art. 13 years ago on a February day during my maternity leave I made a choice to start a design business… in those 13 years it’s evolved and grown into something I couldn’t even imagined.

Today I wanted to tell you a little about it 🌸

Since 2018, Seek & Bloom has been my heartfelt journey to combine my love for flowers with my 20 year graphic design background, in a tangible and meaningful way. Deeply rooted in the Annapolis Valley, I sustainably forage and source local botanicals and preserve their beauty through the slow art of flower pressing. I create one of a kind pressed flower artwork, while also digitally reproducing and photographing my designs and flowers for art prints and cards that have an elegant and organic feel. My collections are inspired by colourful gardens, landscapes and the creatures that inhabit them, with the intention of reconnecting us to nature and the seasons of our lives.

New Blog Post "A Wedding Bouquet Frame Guide."

With 4 colours to choose from it's sometimes hard to know what style will best suit your flowers and your decor!

Wedding Bouquet Preservation for 2025 is available, some weekends are filling up quick. I take a very limited amount each month to ensure you the best service and results for your forever flower artwork.

Preserving your wedding flowers is a heartfelt way to hold on to the memories of one of the most special days of your life. During these quieter January days, while nature sleeps under a blanket of snow, I reflect on the beauty of the bouquets I’ve had the honour to preserve this past season. Choo...

I have a quick ask to you this morning while you scroll. Your feedback and reviews of your purchases and experience working with me on wedding bouquets and custom orders is important to the growth of my business.

It would mean so much to me if you took a quick moment and left me a note on my google page.

Stumbling upon this photo reminded me that even doing the work that I don’t always want to do, but have to do I still need to put love into it…. Now back to the dishes 🤣

Starting the year by manifesting and putting into action big dreams for 2025, and this project has set the tone for just one of the things I plan to do more of. 🌸🌿🌼Looking back, I’m proud of my earlier work, but the transformation over the past few years shows so much growth—and a beautiful path forward.

A little backstory… 👩‍💻 I’m a graphic designer by trade. In my past career, I loved helping other businesses like mine with logos and brand aesthetics. While I don’t offer that service anymore, I still love taking on the occasional challenge for my business friends. So, when my marketing bestie .in.the.valley came to me with a request for a journal design, I had a vision—something I’ve wanted to explore for a while but hadn’t made the space for yet: pattern design, with a pressed flower twist, of course!

I knew the artwork had to match Julie’s brand aesthetics and the vibrant energy she brings to her business. 🦋 🧡🌼 💙 🍑 I pulled together blue, orange, and peach-toned flowers, photographed and edited them one by one, and after much creative work—BOOM… magic 🪄.

What else do I have planned? You’ll have to stick around to find out 😉
