This post is coming in a little late, but may I share with you Team 3 from the escape room challenge at the "Kids N Kops" camp hosted by the Lacombe Police and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lacombe and Area.

This team was super enthusiastic to play and had a bit of a scramble at the beginning, letting some items get them distracted, but then got it together in the last half. They really had to race to make up for lost time, and ended up winning with ONE SECOND left on the clock. It was intense!

This was Team 2 from the escape room challenge at the "Kids N Kops" camp hosted by the Lacombe Police and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lacombe and Area. Team 2 had some great communication and sharing, and they worked hard to find the catnapped Mr. Fluffybottoms. They did, just in the nick of time with less than a minute left on the clock. Excellent job, team!

Last week I was thrilled to run some games for the Kids N Kops summer camp, hosted by the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lacombe and Area and the Lacombe Police force. It is such a cool camp and such a boon to our community.

I was asked to write a 'crime-themed' game for the camp, and so I created "Catnapped", a 30-minute game where kids analyze fingerprints and tissue samples, decode ransom notes, and much more. It was so fun to do!

The last prize has been claimed! Well done to these kiddos - who came running full tilt across the field to come find me! I loved it! While they can't attend the 18+ concert, they can enjoy the tasty candies that came along with the prize. Great job!

A huge thanks goes to for donating two general admission tickets to the Finger Eleven concert that is tomorrow night. The tickets are valued at $150, which is a huge prize for this little scavenger hunt!

Today I tried to make the puzzle a little tougher and more of a challenge, and STILL it took less than 45 minutes for you all to figure it out! Congrats to prize winners 1 and 2!

Thanks MUST go out to for being our featured business location today - we use Luke's Shine Shop for our vehicle detailing, and let me tell you, they do an AMAZING job! I honestly didn't recognize my own vehicle when they drove it up to me and stood beside it for five full minutes before I realized it was mine. They made it look newer than new! Definitely check them out for your next car detailing.

I'd also like to thank AGAIN - they donated TWO $25 gift certificates so that more families could participate in the scavenger hunt. Go check out their delicious menu items tonight - although with plus 30 weather you might want to eat in the air-conditioned interior today! LOL

Meet happy prize winner #2 from today's scavenger hunt adventure! She tracked down the loot bag to studio within 30 minutes of the puzzle drop - Lacombe was on the ball today!

She won a $25 gift certificate to the always delicious here in Lacombe (I speak with experience, I was just there for dinner last night! LOL). Cilantro and Chive has locations both in Lacombe and Red Deer, and their food is gourmet, with a unique twist, and always amazing. It's one of my favourites! Thank you for the generous donation!

The team tagged me in a story but it didn’t show up in my notifications and then there was some confusion - several other teams notified me to say the prize was missing and I thought it was stolen… and then I saw Trish’s story and recognized the prize bag! Congratulations to today's prize winners! They cruised to the loot bag location in less than 20 minutes - every day my players are getting faster and faster. I love it! You all are so smart and enthusiastic!

The loot bag today was STUFFED full with a "Summer Fun" theme, courtesy of the Lacombe Public Schools Enhancement Society. This group works hard to raise funds in order to redo or improve the playgrounds at our local schools. If you want to help support them, visit their page to donate! They are a very important group for our youth here in Lacombe so show them so love!

Good morning everyone! Happy Canada Day! Today is the first day of the “Fun in the Sun with Escape Rooms” scavenger hunt! We will be exploring all around Lacombe for these next 12 days, solving puzzles, answering riddles, using secret passwords and phrases, and of course, finding prizes! Many amazing local Lacombe businesses have joined in, so one day you might be visiting a store front, the other you might be searching through some shrubbery - you just never know!

**If you want to participate, you MUST follow on Instagram or Facebook in order to see the puzzle posts.

Here’s how it works: keep checking my Instagram or page for new puzzles being dropped. This will occur sometimes in the morning, sometimes later in the afternoon. Solve the puzzle of the day to get a code word. This code word can be entered into my website (I’ll provide the link) and if you are right, you will be taken to a secret page on my website that has clues about the prize’s location.

If there’s a secret phrase you have to share in order to claim the prize, it will be in code on the website, but the cipher key will be there too. Quickly decode the phrase, use the clues to figure out your destination, and if you are the first team to arrive and share the correct phrase, you win the prize!

We might even have more than one prize package, meaning more than one team can win a prize, depending on how many businesses have participated and how many prizes they have donated.

Winners MUST take a selfie with their prize, or a photo of their prize, and tag or text Marti at 403-896-3794 with their photo so that it can be announced that the prize has been claimed.

This lovely group of ladies from Epic Insurance played a game with me last week while at a teambuilding event in Red Deer. For almost all of them, it was their first introduction to escape rooms. They had a blast and were able to pull in a win at the last minute. Well done team!!!

I’m helping to run a super fun field trip at Heritage Ranch today! It’s a combo of “Mantracker” and a scavenger hunt in the forest, where kiddos have to find their colour of flags hidden among the foliage, all while being stalked by an experienced rider on horseback.

What a fun field trip idea! Wish I’d had something like this when I was a kid.

Happy 13th birthday to Kloey! Not only did Kloey celebrate her birthday with a touch of magic by playing “The Headmaster’s Office”, but she did so FOR FREE, thanks to being one of the top fundraisers for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lacombe “Walk for Kids Sake” campaign.

Kloey raised so much in support of BBBS that she won a prize, and that was a free game from Escape Rooms. I am extremely proud of Kloey and her amazing efforts to help kids in our area, as well as she and her team for winning the escape room game with time to spare.

Last Saturday night, I was hired to come and set up some fun entertainment for this fun friend group! They had a blast solving the puzzles from the adults-only game "Black Cat Cafe", a speakeasy game with lots of nefarious themes from the 1920s.
