Reminder: there’s a lot of noise out there, and there may continue to be for a while - maybe another year, who knows. One can be positive, but we also have to be realistic. Take a few hours, days or even weeks to mentally and emotionally prep yourself for whatever unexpected circumstances will be thrown our way ❤️

Here’s how we do Christmas Eve ✨
How I’ve known it forever ❤️

My parents taught us about magic at a young age. Every Christmas Eve, they’d stage and film Santa’s visit overnight 🌌. In the morning 🌅, our anxious little bodies would squirm and our mouths would open speechlessly as we’d watch Santa in OUR home 🎅🏼. How lucky were we that Mommy and Daddy caught him 🤗

I never quite understood why my parents would record us on Christmas morning watching this recording of Santa in our home… until I had my own kids ❤️

⭐️ While their magic is seeing Santa,
Ours is seeing their reactions ⭐️

At 3:00 am, we filmed Christmas Eve 2021 🎅🏼 (our 4th year now!). And this morning, the girls watched this video as we recorded their reactions, right before gifts and breakfast ❤️

How do you bring magic ✨ to your holiday season? Whatever you do, record it 🎥 so you can hold on to the magic forever 😉

There’s only one person who has the full picture of a wedding… Who knows the couple, their families, the vendors, the schedule, the vows, the speeches, the details, the dress changes, the behind-the-scenes work, the hiccups along the way 🙋🏻‍♀️

We stand by the couple through it all. Our only goal is their happiness 🥰.

Sometimes this means skipping meals, putting up with vendors we don’t agree with, taking the blame for things just so no one argues, running on our feet for 20 hours, etc. And it absolutely always means putting ourselves last on the long list of needs 🙃.

It’s not a job for everyone. But the ones with literal endless energy 🔋, quick-on-feet decision making abilities 💨, and no drama attitude 🙅🏻‍♀️ will thrive.

Hi! ❤️

You already know I wear my heart on my sleeve, I REALLY love what I do, and I am a very honest person. But you also know that my family comes first.

Over the past year+, I have taken care of my children (and pregnancy) while taking calls at all hours of the day. I have had difficult conversations with many vendors about couples' weddings. It's been quite the year, but as a planner, I signed up for it so I do not complain.

That said, 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 for my family and I.

Why? Because my job is to plan... and, well, what are we planning for at this point? I have 30 weddings currently, and it is unreasonable to have plans A-Z for each one, while trying to grow my business for the future.

I am determined and excited to grow, but I am reasonable... I cannot do it all right now with a
3-year old and baby at home. My kids are my priority, and so is my sanity.

"𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭, 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥" is one of my life promises. So, if current uncontrollable and unforeseeable circumstances don't allow me to do my job properly and happily, I cannot take on more stress and make more promises at this point.

𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞, 𝐦𝐲 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐟𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞. It’s a hard decision but it’s the right one.

You may always reach out to me any time, and I can point you to wonderful colleagues who can take on your event.

✨ Kids just want to be with friends and family for their birthdays... but for the second year in a row, this wasn’t allowed for my social butterfly. Without dwelling on what could be, we made it 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 ❤️

In January, she told me she wanted 𝐚 𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐞-𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲 🌹. Not sure where she got that from but here we were 😂

❣️𝘐’𝘮 𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘢 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘴𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘵.

If you know Father Luc, you know everything is done with meaning. Booking him for our daughters’ baptisms was an easy choice both times because nothing I do is half-hearted or without meaning either!⁣
⁣
He introduced us to a 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 years ago of 💌𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 💌 to our girls, blessing them during mass, and keeping them safe to open 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝟏𝟖 🥺. Parents, godparents, aunts and uncles, grandparents, great grandparents, anyone can partake in this beautiful act! We always write to our girls, but this is different - this is special ❤️... this goes into our safe at the bank.

We don’t know where we’ll be when our girls turn 18. Should we not be here, a piece of us will be - a private moment just for them - that they can read alone in their room or around their 18th birthday cake. And, if at 18, we’re still here, or if they’ve travelled down a difficult path, we’ll reminisce about a time in the distant past where nothing else mattered but our love for them ❤️. ⁣
⁣
We don’t read each others’ letters when we sealed them, because down the road it’ll be a beautiful moment for all of us. But I do know - my dad put a mask in Alessia’s (2021), which made me so emotional because as much as I don’t want to remember this, it’s such a part of Alessia - I got pregnant one month before pandemic was declared - it will definitely shape her. And Anthony, well, he told Lea (2018) to go look outside at her surprise (lollll 🚗) - so help me if he forgets 😂.⁣ Point is, we all leave our own print for the girls ❤️

It’s a beautiful tradition that gets you choked up as you’re writing 😭. One of my biggest fears is not seeing my girls grow up, but with this, I know they’ll always know how obsessed I am with them ❤️.⁣

We spend so much time typing on our phones... put a pen to a paper 😉🥰 you won’t regret it.

Oh how I love a thoughtful favour. As a guest, I feel loved and appreciated, and as a host, my heart feels warm. ⁣

When your guestlist shrinks from 120 to 10, well, you’re able to splurge a little bit more on favours 🤍 ⁣

Parents, godparents (my sis), and great grandmother each received a basket of meaningful items I put together. ⁣
⁣
❤️ 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐠𝐞 from Sageful welcomes healing, wealth and abundance. What Alessia brought us this year, we hope to share with our family.⁣
❤️ 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐞 to toast Alessia's rite of passage, as we normally would during a baptism reception.⁣
❤️ An 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐤𝐞 from Les Desserts Majolu per guest since we weren’t getting together after mass. Every good dessert idea of mine begins with: "Iula, I have an idea don’t kill me..." 😂 (the boxes posed abit of a challenge but she came through at 4am... everyone needs a Iula in their life!!!).⁣
❤️ 𝐂𝐚𝐫 𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐬 made by me, with the girls' birthstones and blessed during the ceremony.⁣ I place these on my girls’ car seats!

𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 - 𝘗𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘙𝘢𝘣𝘣𝘪𝘵.

My first’s personality at this age was that of a lioness, Alessia’s is that of a 𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐲. Alessia is cute, intelligent, playful, quiet, social yet independent, so affectionate... and understanding (she sleeps!!!). She’s perfect.

Her name means 𝘥𝘦𝘧𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳, and we want her to know that she CAN change this world, because she’s definitely changed ours. She’s brought a calmness into our home, the serenity we needed.

When she looks back on her baptism, I want her to feel she got the same special celebration as her sister; not a “perfect for during a pandemic” - just a “𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵” one 🥰.

We had the same beautiful ceremony, still got new party outfits, still had a photographer, still set up at home, still had cake and party favours...... 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬, 𝐰𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭 ✨
