🎥 Nostaliga time! 🎥
I am celebrating the 5th anniversary of a budding project I started with the help of Telus StoryHive- my community story around the Lethbridge punk and metal scene. It not only played for a year on Telus in 2020, but filled a movie theatre upon its release. I call this pre-covid relic of mine "Dethbridge: Incandescence Beneath the Nebulous".

Source file lost in a massive hard-drive, I was unable to edit this copy of the documentary and make a couple requested changes (for that I apologize). This documentary means a lot to many in our local scene and I want to make it accessible once again since my contract with Telus has ended.
In these past 5 years a lot of things have changed. But one thing that doesn't, is the heart in this scene. It's an honor to continue being apart of the evolution of Lethbridge's metal scene to this day, as its fire burns brighter and brighter. I have every intention of going through old footage and contacting bands to inquire about releasing the full-length interviews, because I've got a nostalgia treasure chest of raw footage in my hands.

Die Another Day
Conceptualized and launched in the spring of 2019, Die Another Day exploded onto the local music scene in their hometown of Calgary, Alberta. Seemingly instantaneous, the group became known as a formidable force with the release of their first single, “Broken Youth.” Maintaining momentum, the band dove headfirst into the writing and recording process of their debut EP. Released on April 10th, 2020, the aptly titled "Wild Fire" ignited a widespread blaze that rapidly engulfed the hearts of many, propelling the band to new heights of popularity.
In the interim between their debut and sophomore EPs, the group released a dynamic reimagined rendition of 6ix9ine's "GOOBA" featuring King Dylan — beloved hip-hop artist & local icon. Following this, hearts would melt with the release of an absolute HEATER of a track, their pop-punk anthem, "Can't Wait For Summer,” effectively showcasing the group's inherent and adept aptitude to pull elements from a myriad of stylistic influences, inspiring their diverse yet distinctive sound. In 2022, Die Another Day released their second EP, "Fiction,” an electrifying follow up to its EP predecessor in which a refined sound was evident, all while incorporating a diversity of soundscapes and experimental elements simultaneously; this, not only affirmed their musical prowess but served as a bold statement to any skeptics.
In 2024, Die Another Day debuted the brilliant & virtuosic single "Transcend," which quickly amassed streams and became their most streamed song to date. Following this, they released the highly anticipated, "Sickness With A Smile;" an aggressive and energetic track, sure to spin the pits of their live shows!

Lethbridge! Holy s**t! This weekend was so enriching, my heart is so damn full. You all turned UP. Not only did you turn up, but brought so many winter clothing donations and cash donations that it made me emotional. All your big smiles and good vibes were... *Chef's kiss* 🥰
The winter clothing drive is very close to my heart in memory of someone very close to me that I lost many years ago. To all of you who brought clothing and/or cash donations, you did something really meaningful. The generosity you all displayed is such a truly beautiful way to start 2025 off right.
With full hearts and neck aches, I hope you all feel as good as I do when reflecting on your start to 2025.
I will be sharing photos and videos of the event soon for you all to gaze fondly upon!

I've got one more band spotlight for you all... Nox Solaris!
Nox Solaris is a Lethbridge based Atmospheric Progressive Metal band that blends cosmic soundscapes with layered distorted aggression, mirroring the beauty and violence of our natural universe. Formed in August 2023 by Ian Lambert on guitar and Fynnan Rhys Bowen on drums, they began writing original music, infusing their varied individual styles to create a sound unique to the Lethbridge music scene. Shortly after they were joined by Rylan Howard, solidifying the backbone of the band with his virtuosic bass lines. In 2024 the trio was joined by Hayden Xavier who enhanced the band's depth and vibrance with atmospheric guitar effects and crushing harsh vocals.

The band is currently refining material to compile their first full-length studio album, and searching for a melodic vocalist to help complete that vision. Please reach out to them on Facebook or Instagram if you'd like to audition!

Our lives can feel so full of 💥noise 💥 The sounds on the street don’t change, but we can find a way to reconduct the noise into music- with loud love and little infinities. Have you ever found yourself in a moment of infinity- where time stood still? ✨ Share in the comments!

Our moment of infinity is standing in a crowd at a local music event. I look around and see bliss on the faces of the crowd as they connect with that which allows us to remember why we fight so hard to make it to another day. The soul needs a rinse from time to time. A removing of life’s stress that hangs like tar. A moment to remember life is about more than responsibilities to society.
