The flower I recommend time and time again 👇🏼

Anemones. It doesn’t matter which colour - they all press and preserve SO beautifully. I’ve worked with white, red, light and dark purple, blue anemones, and I’ve yet to see a bad one.

Particularly for white bouquets however, I’m often asked which whites will actually preserve better than others so that the final frame offers contrast while still being primarily white. White anemones will always be at the top of my list!! I provide all my clients with the opportunity to walk through their floral recipe and I will give floral suggests or insight as to which flowers will preserve best within your colour scheme. THANK YOU LONDON ✨

One of my favourite weekends of the year has come to an end! To be able to meet so many past, current, and future clients and vendors, and to showcase the true beauty of my artwork in person is surreal; I’m so thankful for the opportunity. I am on cloud nine 🥰

Back in 2023 I had a vision for a custom backdrop and display. I took my pen to paper and drew out a design that would perfectly showcase my creations while putting emphasis on different size, design, frame, and glass options. To this day, I am still so in love with and proud of the outcome, all thanks to my hubby for bringing my vision to life. Thank you for all of the love and appreciation for my display and the brand/aesthetic I’ve built 🥹

Another thank you to my gal for rocking the show with me this year, and my gal Janis from for the stunning fresh tabletop florals, and the arrangement of the backdrop florals 🥰✨

A little something different ✨

This client gave me what we (artists) all truly wish for: creative freedom. “Your work is so beautiful and I have complete confidence that whatever you choose will be stellar.” A dream!

I immediately had a vision, and I glued and glued until it came to life. That’s the fun part about creative freedom — I get to showcase your flowers in a way that I feel will do them most justice, while also doubling as a piece of artwork for your home. I asked my husband what his thoughts were and he said “Ouu cool, it’s like a river with lily pads.” 😂 men. If this design sticks around, surely it’ll be named after his first impression.

Meet the maker 💛

It’s me, Emily! I don’t show my face on here as often as I should, so hey, here I am!

A creator friend of mine had recently kicked it old school with a two truths and one lie icebreaker, and the comment section was hilarious so here I am doing the same. Comment below which one is a LIE, and if you’re feeling up to it, throw 2 truths and a lie back at me!! It’s only fun if people participate 😅

1. I lived out of a car for two months 🚗
2. I am allergic to peaches 🍑
3. My dad is a professional race car driver 🚦

And GO 😂

Let’s call her “wildflower” 🪻

What do you think? Shall we add her to the design option lineup?

This piece and design is giving vibes and I’m here for it!! For all of my floral preservation lovers, if you’re located in the US and you’re looking for someone to preserve your special blooms, Tara is your gal. An OG in the preservation industry and a true gem of a human to boot!

Let’s talk about colour correction 📢

Let me preface by saying: colour correction is typically not something that I offer. Do I know how to do it? Yes. Do I prefer colour corrected blooms over natural? In most cases, no.

However, some flowers (roses in particular) can drastically lose colour throughout the drying process. This orange rose for example is one of my enemies haha - it simply does not retain that incredibly beautiful orange hue. In fact, take a look at photo #3 for a quick snapshot comparison between half colour corrected, and have natural. This was sent over to my client prior to proceeding as it’s a HUGE difference, and a very much necessary change in this case.

In the event that I think colour correction will make or break the final piece, I’ll correct. The orange roses in this bouquet were so prominent and gorgeous, and they definitely needed to be a big component in the final frame as well!

If you’re new to the floral preservation world, I hope this serves as motivation to you — even those of us that consider ourselves industry professionals still face these kinds of struggles with colour retention. It’s how you go about designing or fixing said struggle that truly highlights your professionalism.

Did someone say discounts?? 👀

Yes, you read that correctly! I am so, so thrilled to be launching the first introductory round of my preferred florists program. For this initial launch, I’ve specifically selected five florists whom I’ve worked with more than any other over the last six years. I can first handedly and confidently vet their talents and services, and am beyond excited to be partnering with them for this program.

What’s in it for you? A 10% discount will be applied to all new floral preservation orders if you are booked in with any of my preferred florists. I hope for this growing list of preferred florists to be a starting point for prospective clients while searching for their dream wedding florals.

What’s in it for me? My intention with this program is to have more control over the quality and overall style of blooms that I receive. Quality, fresh, and local flowers have high quality preservation results which is very important to me and my artwork. It’s crucial as an artist to remain inspired and challenged in order to produce optimal results, and these five are amongst those whom inspire me time and time again.

That being said, I am so honoured to introduce to you five incredible women; Hilary from , Deanna from , Janis from , Alexandra from , and Colleen from . Though each with their own distinct and unique style, their floral knowledge, expertise, and precision are shown consistently in every arrangement they create, and I highly recommend considering them if you’re currently on your dream florist search!

Story time 🥺 📖

This client, like most, had booked in her flower preservation a year in advance of the wedding date. The time had come to deliver the bouquet to me following the wedding, and she delivered some awful news. The wedding was crashed and completely trashed in the wee hours of the morning 😭. All floral arrangements destroyed and ripped to shreds - a literal nightmare. They salvaged as many flowers as they possibly could from the floor to provide something to preserve.

I knew this piece had to be perfect, and that it is. I hope this piece only brings back the best of the positive memories from their special day ✨

Another day, another coral charm stunner 🌸

One of many benefits to pressing petal by petal is that you can play with and adjust the size of the flower during the reconstruction process. Naturally, a coral charm peony is quite massive. Pair that with a 16x20 frame, and space is incredibly limited, especially with several peonies. It’s a matter of recreating an appropriate size as well as picking and choosing which flowers should be incorporated into the frame to best represent your bouquet.

I have a love/hate relationship with coral charm peonies 🌸

Coral charms have a rather interesting life cycle. They are my absolute favourite when they are fresh - such a bold and vibrant colour, that preserves incredibly well! In a matter of days however, this colourful beauty actually turns into a very pale yellow tone. It’s not that I personally dislike the yellow stage, it’s moreso that clients are usually completely shocked that the most vibrant component of their bouquet has completely lost its colour. It’s honestly quite bizarre how quickly this transition occurs, and it tends to leave people very disappointed!

I always suggest that the sooner I receive a bouquet for preservation, the better the results of the final piece. That’s especially true in this case when it comes to coral charm peonies. If you’re planning to incorporate them into your florals, I’ll need your bouquet as soon as possible in order to preserve them while they still hold the pink hues - ideally the day following the wedding.

I’ll post the answer to my stories tomorrow so that the poll results are genuine! What do you think you’re looking at? A print or the original piece?

If this doesn’t make you want a colourful bouquet, I don’t know what will!!

The most stunning colourful florals (💐: ) + a client that places full trust in your creative ability (👰🏻: ) = a very happy Emily!

The whispy and dainty components of Lexi’s bouquet allowed me to grasp the true illusion and intention behind my “star gazing” design. It’s carefully and strategically curated to look as though you’re lying down in a field of flowers, looking up at the sky; hence the design name! Really look at and admire the piece for a few moments and you’ll get lost in the design!

Let this be your sign to incorporate a splash of colour to your big day 💛💖💙

Selecting your frame size ‼️

You probably wouldn’t have guessed, but this frame here is a 22x28 matted piece - it’s my biggest standard offering. These tiny grid squares don’t really put the size of frame into perspective, so I’m here to help you navigate that process!

Things to consider:

1. Location - where do you want to hang your frame? Is there a spot that you already have chosen, or do you want a piece that’s a bit more versatile to be moved around to different locations?

2. Statement frame or keepsake? Are you primarily preserving your bouquet for the artwork aspect, or the sentimental value behind it? Or both?! If you’re looking for a statement piece in your home that doubles as a sentimental keepsake, upsize. If you’re wanting to just preserve the memory, a 16x20 will suffice!

3. Budget - which frame works within the budget you have?

Regardless of your bouquet size, you can choose whichever frame size you’d like. If your bouquet is huge and you’ve ordered a 16x20, I’ll just use what’s required to fulfil the frame size requested. If your bouquet is rather small but you’ve ordered a 22x28 or another custom size, I’ll just require that you drop off extra flowers in order to fill the larger size frame. Selecting a frame in advance can be confusing if you’re unsure of the bouquet size - but focus on the three main points above if you’re on the fence!

The next few months ✨

There are a lot of changes happening behind the scenes right now! A newborn, a new daycare for my middle kiddo, and school for my oldest kiddo. New routines, new schedules, new norms, and just trying to navigate the craziness of it all lol.

My goal for getting back to design work is mid October - a whopping two week postpartum maternity leave. Mamapraneur life isn’t for the weak! 😅

All this to say, you can expect email responses throughout the wee hours of the morning, and a scattered presence here on socials for a little (but what else is new lol). Timelines for current clients at this point shouldn’t be affected — but as a reminder, my turnaround time is approximately 6 months. If there is a delay, you will be notified via email.

I’ll be working on expo prep and custom offerings throughout this winter season as well - there’s so much to look forward to, I’m honestly not sure which part of it I’m most excited for!

Thanks for sticking around, friends 🤍✨
