Spring is a great time of year to get outside and make your first iNaturalist observations! 📱 📸

Spring ephemerals are small woodland wildflowers that bloom early in the spring before the trees fully leaf out. You won’t see them by late spring or early summer when the forest floor becomes shaded. 🌸 🌷☀️

We have red trilliums and white trilliums but don’t be confused when you spot pink trilliums too! White trilliums change color as they age, transitioning from white to pink. This trillium looks like it’s waiting to bloom for the City Nature Challenge 😜♥️

Do you want to learn how to use iNaturalist? Join the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority as they teach you all about iNaturalist, what is it, how to use it, and how to become a citizen scientist. Once complete, you’ll be all set to use your new iNaturalist skills to participate in the City Nature Challenge from April 26th-29th!
