Thank You For All Your Efforts To Make This Happen! Maple Ridge Is Grateful!
We are very excited to announce that through the support of generous donations of up to $100,000, the Friends In Need Food Bank has bought its current headquarters.
"We've had over $300,000 in donations to make it all happen," said Mary Robson, executive director. "It's very, very generous, but when a couple of the donors knew what we were trying to do, they donated without hesitation. It's given us security for the future, and the pressure is off, the deal is done!"
Last year, the food bank was faced with an expiring lease, and the landlords for the past 24 years, who have always been big supporters of the charity, reached retirement age and decided to sell. There were few suitable locations to move into.
