Wedding season has begun with a flourish of peonies & pansy’s 🌸

This wedding bouquet was for Kelli, the most trusting and easy-going bride I’ve had the pleasure to work with. She gave me a colour palette and said “surprise me”, and that’s what I did.

We grew these creamy peach pansy’s just for her in the dead of winter among, fluffy peach ranunculus & the other little treasure we seeded in our gardens.

It’s almost delphinium time 🦋

And just in time for wedding season. We actually spent two year’s growing this specific seed for a special bride. And her wedding is next week! 2 years of love and cultivation for this one event. So much of farming is unpredictable so it feels great when those best laid plans ACTUALLY turn out 💜

The first delivery of the Heirloom Bloom Club was sent off yesterday!

We had all the best spring flowers growing on our farm. Double tulips, ranunculus, anemones and some special bits & bobs that made up the first bouquets of the season 🌸

We are so thankful to all our bloom club members that invested in our subscription last winter! Which let us grow these incredible flowers ❤️

Tis the damn season!!!

Iris are starting to flush and this is my first year with all these new faces. We will be saving all these special stems for & our own events as they are a fleeting beauty.

Hot tip: they actually have a decent vase life if you keep pulling off the spent flowers to let the rest of the stem bloom 💗

-selection is unmatched, you have access to not only our farm but others in the local area in one single place.

-building a relationship with a grower, I love the florists we get provide our blooms with and that connect is so special.

- fresh fresh fresh, I really don’t have to say more than that. Stems are long and vase live is bangin.

It’s planting szn baby! Here is a collection of photos from this week. 🌱

1. First daff blooms, I’m thinking in the next two weeks we should be blooming fully 🌼🌼🌼

3. Over wintered lupins!!! Finally the bunnies left me some lupins after 3 years of trying to keep them.

4. Icelandic poppies are looking FABULOUS.

5. Me bottom watering some plugs with the massive puddle/ flooding at my other plot from 3 days of rain we had ♻️

6. Tunnel progress! Hopefully we have some tunnel blooms for Mother’s Day 🤞

7. Voles being right dicks! Ate all my fritillara. 🥲

There is nothing quite like a daffodil. 🌼

We grow hundreds of fluffy, unique daffodils every year! We love them because they are the FIRST thing to bloom on the farm and it really makes us prepare for the excitement of spring.

This is just some of the massive narcissus collection I’ve amassed over the years. 🫶

Each has her own personality and flare that keeps me falling in love with this flower more and more.

Every year I say “ok enough daffodils” but somehow I find more types that catch my eye, and they just fall into my shopping cart. 🛒

Did you know Heirloom Heather is a family affair?

Well sort of, I couldn’t build this dream with just my two hands. Here are all the people you never see behind the cam (mostly because they hate photos 🥹)

My step dad- Dave, the king of handy & who does literally everything I beg for or pitch to him. Thanks for always having my back, and figuring out how to make my dreams come true. ❤️ He the guy who cuts the grass, always lets me know when a drip tape is leaking or builds me a entire hoop house. He always let’s me take over his person garage to do big flower production, oh and lets me grow on his land when I started this crazy idea of starting a flower farm.

Mama Heirloom, aka FI. She is the hustler, the person who always comes up with a faster way of doing something. She’s the finder of lost snips and the slinger of blooms at the markets. And my forever person I get advice from. Most of the times I’ll ask Ricky and then say “ok thanks now ima ask mom”.

Ricky - my partner in crime, my shoulder to cry on and dream supporter. He the guy who reigns back some of my wild ideas when I need it, and supports me when I get overwhelmed. He the time-management, and the best Tetris-market-tear-down (he can fit anything in our Honda I’m convinced.)

Thanks to these 3 key family members, my dream of running flower farm came true, and I am able to continue growing flowers for this wonderful community 🌸🌸💖🦋.
