Did you all know that Ella was only the second African-American woman to lead an orchestra? Blanche Calloway,(Cab’s sister) was first. After Chick Webb died, Ella took up his baton. Sure wish we had a time machine to watch her lead the band.

"Socrates and the Tarot

“I cannot teach anybody anything. I can only make them think.” - Socrates

Do you know what? The philosopher Socrates made me a better tarot reader.

That’s because, instead of ‘telling’ my client what would appear on their path ahead, or describing certain energies to them, I started using tarot cards in a brand new way…

A Socratic way

There was one part of his philosophy that really struck a chord with me.

And it’s a technique used by psychologists as well as psychics!

Socratic Questioning (otherwise known as open questions)

This technique was nearly lost forever. Socrates didn’t write any of his philosophical thoughts down. Luckily, his student Plato did! We take many of these ancient thoughts as standard today.

You can bring Socratic questions into your readings very easily. This turns you from a ‘fortune teller’ into an insightful, helpful tarot coach (and your clients will be overjoyed with the outcomes of their readings).

Why is that?

“Wonder is the beginning of wisdom” - Socrates
Instructing the client and imparting your wisdom is good for your ego, but not particularly helpful to your client. Your lived experiences and learnt wisdom will be completely different to theirs - it’s all based on beliefs.

When you can get into the mindset of prompting your clients to find their own wisdom, they will walk away feeling like a different person. This is because they will realise that the answer was always inside of them, and their tarot reading simply unlocked it." -

I am so excited for Morgan as she takes the stage and shows them what talent truly is at Ranchmans Calgary with Fox and the Hounds. Morgan is the real deal, in country music, maybe that doesn't matter anymore, but a down to earth Alberta farm girl who actually rides and ropes, not just as a rodeo queen, but because busy times on a family ranch require all hands on deck. Her natural beauty and sincere heart, work together with mad vocal skills and authentic song writing. I won't wish Morgan luck, she's too talented to need it. I will however suggest you get your butts to Ranchmans on November 7 to support this true Alberta talent 🌟

After a tip from the fabulous Elizabeth McNally Real Estate Collective - REAL Broker I visited Medicine Hat's newest Irish pub, McNally’s Tap House, this weekend. It felt like coming home.
