Chowder Base!

I made a large batch of Chowder Base for a market that I unfortunately could not attend.

Chowder Base holds well in the freezer and can be made into any type of Chowder!

Just heat on the stove, add heavy cream (or a dairy alternative of your choice), and whatever Chowder ingredients you like.

Fish, chicken, clams, corn, brisket ... the possibilities are endless!

A perfect addition to those upcoming holiday functions.

1L of Chowder Base will make approximately 2-3L of Chowder- 1/2 L of cream + 1/2 L - 1 1/2 L of ingredients of your choice.

Season with salt and pepper, and voila, a beautiful soup for the family.

Soup Heating Tips

Majority of our customers opt for individually portioned freezer bags of soup.

How do you heat them up?

You can thaw them in the fridge and microwave them.

You can put your frozen soup into a microwave safe container, and cook from frozen.

The bags are microwave safe - be sure to open the zip lock to vent them and put them in a microwave safe container.

Microwave for 1 minute at a time, stir, and add an additional minute until the soup reaches the desired temperature.

You can also heat them in a saucepan on the stove, or even thaw & warm them in the bags in a bowl of hot water.

Just make sure you always use caution when handling hot soup!
