Meet Ike 😍
Such a handsome boy. It’s not often you see a horse with a curly mane and coat and I was thrilled to photograph him.
Ike used to live in the same stable as my Ebony and I would pass by him each day and always talk to him. One day I asked his owner if I could photograph him for a personal project. She said yes and here is the final result.
The 2nd image is the before. It’s fun to take a regular photograph and turn it into what I envisioned.
He’s such a beauty ❤️

Posing groups and keeping it quick and fun for everyone is always my goal. I started with the group of groomsmen first, posing them separately as I added one by one. The large window was on the left side, so using the natural light to its best. I then added the bride & bridesmaids, then took out the guys for just the women. We had a few laughs together while swiftly moving along so no one was bored.
It was almost 40 degrees outside, so it was sure nice to have big cool heritage house to shoot in!

Sometimes waiting til the end of the night for a romantic dance alone is one of the most memorable moments of your entire wedding. Time to breath and soak in how much you love each other and how grateful you both are for the beautiful way you just celebrated starting the rest of your life together.

The final moments before his son was about to be married this father took a quiet moment of contemplation. I noticed him from a distance and admired his dignity and calm presence and wondered what he was thinking about. Without disturbing him I used a long lens to capture this moment.
Many of my clients thank me for capturing moments they never saw themselves.
I’m always watching, observing. You may not even realize I’m there.

On this rainy last day of November I've been sitting at my desk looking through the sunnier days of weddings this past summer. I've been finishing off the designs for my clients wedding albums. I love creating the story of their day. I know they'll enjoy looking back on their beautiful day together.
I adore this image. The sun filtering through the trees at Milner Gardens & Woodland as Leonard and Cara had a few private moments following their wedding ceremony.

Meet Al Noble.
I met Al over 30 years ago when a couple of my girlfriends and I decided to take a roping clinic at a local ranch.
I'll always remember Al striding up with his confident cowboy swagger saying to us "So you girls want to learn how to rope do you?"
He's now married to my friend that was in that roping clinic. I'm not sure who roped who ;)
I've thought about photographing him for years and at last went for a visit with my camera in hand. It was all very Yellowstone. He is definitely the patriarch of this family. HIs daughters were there, one teaching riding lessons, the other in her horse trailer popping her head out to say Hi. They're now successful horsewomen in their own rights. Al swaggered around in pride.
This all a few doors down from the farm I grew up on. It's interesting how life brings you back to your roots sometimes. I used to ride my horse down this road, past this house to go to the rodeo grounds when I was a young girl.
Personal projects are good for the soul. I'm glad I got to have these moments and capture Al for his family to have forever
Halloween is one of my favourite holidays! This year I was lucky enough to go on the Nanoose Bay Halloween Walk once again and capture some images while occasionally jumping out of my skin!

It’s not often I get a Heavy Metal - Star Wars loving bride and groom! But when I do, I’m going to make the most of it! They had made their own jean jackets with emblems of their favourite metal bands and Dan is a Star Wars fan, so of course they surprised me with their light sabers! These two were so much fun to photograph and their wedding party was one of the most hilarious and nicest group Ive photographed! Congratulations Haley & Dan! Happy 10 year + 1 week Anniversary! I bet you’re having a rockin’ honeymoon and have a great time at Galaxy’s Edge- Star War’s Land - Disney Land. Hope you brought your light sabers!!
