My name is Alison Ruddock. I am the founder and owner of Yawd Style Restaurant, a registered home based business located in Ajax, Ontario. While not at the forefront, both my parents are behind the scenes helping to make Yawd Style Restaurant a successful & trusted brand. They both have been cooking & baking long before I was born (over 30+ years). I’ve always loved food and experimenting with it. However, I learnt everything I know from watching & helping my parents with their individual food businesses for 20+ years in Jamaica. My dad ran a popular jerk restaurant in Border, St. Elizabeth; while my mom catered to the fishermen once they returned from sea selling coco bread, sausage & juice.
