Had so much fun with Faith at her birthday party today. She surprised all her friends with airbrush tattoos! 🥰 There was definitely a theme to the designs they chose.🪶🐦

Yesterday I had the opportunity paint for a family and celebrate being together again. I can't even remember how many years I've been blessed to join them at their annually BBQ. Enough years have passed to have watched their kids grow up and new babies join the family on their side and on mine!

Every age joins in on the face painting and I often get told to just paint something pretty! There's a certain stress when you're put on the spot like that but it's also rewarding as an artist to paint freely. Sometimes you never know what you're going to do and then sometimes this happens 🌻

It's been over 2 years since I had to shut down my face painting business because of covid. I had built this dream job when I was a young single mom. This was my full time gig that supported my kids and I. Through the last 2 years I've only done a handful of events.

My life has changed a lot in the last 14 years since starting this business. I got married, we bought a house, I had another baby, my older kids are now grown adults and my baby is 5 now.. but when covid took my business away it took a part of me with it. I neglected this page because it hurt to think about. It's no excuse, but I couldn't keep up with it. Not knowing if I'd ever be able to start it up again safely.

My life and family lead me to Grandview Kids. I'm so thankful for the opportunity I was given to help families like my own navigate through a diagnosis for their child. I now work there full time. Although I love it, my heart will always belong to art. I know this post is all over the place but I had to try and explain my absence. So, if you're still here, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! ❤️

I had my first event in over a year this weekend. It felt so good to get out and do art again. Lifted my soul to see all the happy kids! This family came early and waited while I set up. It's the only picture I got all day but look at that smile! ❤️☠️

Please be kind to your local businesses that are just trying to open up again. After 18 months of not operating, most of my products have expired. Leaving me to replace several thousand dollars in supplies. It's not as simple as just opening up again. Many of us are deciding if we can even start all over again. ❤️

This Thanksgiving I want to say how thankful I am for all the families who've invited me into their homes over the years to help celebrate with you. This year has been so different for me! I've had to fully shift my art from people to projects. I'm wanting to help support local businesses during these times. I'm calling all friends and followers who are self-employed/run their own business, or want to support small businesses! It's interesting to see the variety in our extended circles.
