Kantan Malaysian Catering
KANTAN was born out of the love of Malaysian food and culture. We offer eclectic Malaysian flavours using recipes right out of the 'kampungs' (villages) that are delicious yet hard to find outside of Malaysia.
'Kantan' is a Malay name for the bright pink ginger torch flower, which is commonly used in traditional Malay and Peranakan dishes of Malaysia such as 'Assam Laksa' and 'Nasi Kerabu'. The flower has a very distinct fragrance and adds a peppery zing to any dish. Majestic and very Malaysian.
In the 'kampungs', food are often times cooked to accommodate large families and neighbours together. We at KANTAN hope to recreate this social atmosphere when friends get together to catch up over good food.
