Our mission is twofold: to advocate youth arts in the lower mainland, and to make performance opportunities for youth artists a reality. First, to advocate youth arts;
GOLIATH Stage provides a name through which we can speak up for youth artists, and give a voice and community presence to those who are otherwise unheard. We represent the interest of the youth arts community both among other arts organizations and public administration. We seek to produce high-quality performances and to bring in an audience, to prove that youth arts are not a curiosity but a marketable business. Our hope is that audience members will go away with a heightened respect for youth arts and young artists. Further, we hope to create and maintain an audience in the community beyond purely the friends and family of performers. Second; to make performance opportunities for youth artists a reality; numerous youth artists in all disciplines struggle both with financing and marketing their work to a large audience. GOLIATH works to take on the administrative workload – giving youth artists an opportunity to stage their work – without having to worry about fundraising, venue rentals, insurance, marketing, tech, and other aspects of the industry which can prevent some artists from reaching their full potential.
