Last night in Toronto was incredible. I played a mix to a sold out crowd ahead of Hybrid Theory - The Linkin Park Tribute Show. Despite technical difficulties cutting my set in half, I made the most of my time on stage.

Thank you to everyone who sang, danced & helped me celebrate the music of a band I’ve cared for deeply since I was 8 years old.

Next up, back to Alberta to DJ a wedding then off to Montreal on Sunday for round 2 with Hybrid Theory!

I'm beyond excited & blown away to officially announce I'll be flying out this month to both Toronto & Montreal to open up with a DJ Set for Hybrid Theory the Linkin Park cover band from Portugal.

Growing up, Linkin Park has always been my favorite band. I saw them play their first show (ultimately their last) in Calgary, Alberta in 2012.

The Summer event season is underway once again! I’m back at the beautiful with supporting a Bride & Groom for their Ceremony & Reception.

Ran into Jackson once again with . He & Sam are two of my faves in the game - just look at the presentation on their virgin Cantaloupe Margarita! It had Tajin on the rim which adds a fantastic spicy element to balance the sweetness of the drink.

I love working with professionals who also endeavour to bring their passion forward to make events extra special.

Yes... it's late. But hey, late is better than never! I wanted to take a moment to say Happy New Year to you.

I am so incredibly grateful for the many connections I made last year, for the hours spent spinning tracks & helping others lose themselves in the moment, and for the incredibly meaningful conversations I had. I wanted to take a moment to reflect & share a bit of what I was able to learn.�

I walked away with more understanding of how to allow myself to be encouraged and supported by others.

��I became more gracious with myself in situations that were out of my control.

��I learned that an alignment on a vehicle is very necessary to prevent tires from shredding.

��I learned that I have a hard time dealing with inconsiderate & entitled folks.��

I learned how tough it is to be close in proximity to family while other siblings are multiple hours - or provinces - away & aren’t afforded the same luxury.�

I learned that words have more power than I realized. I can choose to bless or curse others; I must choose wisely how I speak.

��I learned that I am comfortable in isolation & disconnection from others because that is how my formative years were.��

I learned that while my life isn’t where I anticipated it would be - or where I would like it to be - it is where it is for a purpose.

��Relationships aren’t two people coming together 50/50. It’s two people coming together 100% to create a bond.

�I am optimistic.��

If a computer isn’t maintained, it can become bogged down, slow and unproductive. The brain is much the same. If I don’t take time every day to defrag, receive system updates & restore the proper settings, I will keep getting bogged down until I am unproductive & burnt out.�

�2024. It’s time to restore.

Gratitude.

This weekend was incredible. Thank you to Creative Twist Inc. for bringing me on board on behalf of Juiced Events.

I met a ton of people, seen some I haven’t in years & was able to bring some beats.

The Capstone Winter Nights Festival wouldn’t have been the success it was without some amazing local people including SpandyAndy, Red Hart Brewing, All Seasons Pig Roast & Catering, Alberta Cubed & the photographers/videographers I didn’t have the opportunity to meet.

3 events down, the rest of December ahead of us. Let’s go!

It's been a hot minute since I've been on here, but thought it'd be worth it to share what the Bride from last weekend's wedding had to say.

I had the opportunity to do 3 weddings in September at 52 North Venue, and I've had a great time getting to know Devon & Kat over the past few years.

There were a couple hiccups and I was able to help steady the flow and bring some humour in an unforeseeable situation.

The words this bride shared filled my heart with such genuine joy. I am generally exhausted at the end of wedding season (there's still more weddings to come this year!) and to hear that I am still keeping it up after 5 super busy months meant a lot.

I appreciate that I've been entrusted to do events with so many clients. I don't take it for granted. Thanks to everyone - past and present - for allowing me to be part of your special events!

Reach out if you need someone to bring some energy to an upcoming event. I'd love to be the one to bring the party!

Beloved Festival of Trees Fundraiser Returns With Great JOY! And Breaks A Live Tree Auction Record!

Fort McMurray, Alberta – This past weekend, over 175 sponsors, 300 volunteers and 8,500 guests came together to kick-off the holiday season at the 33rd annual Festival of Trees and raise an astounding $755,000 for regional healthcare initiatives!

The three-day Festival included Ugly Christmas Sweater Party, Festival of Trees Gala, Christmas Family Fun with Santa, Daddy Daughter Sugar Plum Fairy Ball and weekend-long Santa’s Workshop, Winter Wonderland tree viewing and local entertainment. Every space and every event were delightful!

The Health Foundation was thrilled to have the community back in-person for the weekend of seasonal celebrations as Festival had been held virtually the past two years.

“We are so grateful to our many sponsors, donors, ticket purchasers, silent and live auction donors and purchasers, guests and volunteers who supported Festival of Trees this past weekend. The return to a live event really brought out a terrific response from sponsors and the trees were amazing. Many were filled with trips and gifts and gifts cards to local businesses. Most businesses in the region were involved in some capacity with gifts of service, gift cards on trees and in gift baskets and raffles. Festival brings out everyone’s desire to celebrate, share the joy of the season, and support healthcare,” said Cindy Amerongen, Executive Director of the Health Foundation.

“All of the trees and packages were outstanding, and the auction bidding was heated,” continued Amerongen. “The SMS and Fort McMurray First Nation Group of Companies tree featuring professional sports games in Fort Lauderdale went to two high bidders – raising $64,000. The highlight of the night was the Northeastern Alberta Aboriginal Business Association tree which broke all previous high tree records. The tree was purchased by Dave Tuccaro, Tuccaro Group, Andrew Rosser, Suncor, and Chief Mel Grandjamb, Fort McKay First Nation. Each of the bidders contributed $40,000 to raise a whopping $120,000 on the NAABA tree which was the highest amount ever contributed for a single tree. The Health Foundation is absolutely honored to have extraordinary guests and partners attend the Gala and support our healthcare mission.”

In the Santa’s Workshop hundreds of families visited the Teddy Bear Workshop, cookie decorating, children’s gift shop and other craft stations. This was the busiest year ever for the Workshop area and we were very pleased to see so many happy children enjoying the activities. Winter Wonderland also saw a record number of visitors to hear and see the fabulous entertainers, dancers, and storytellers, and to view the trees, purchase raffle tickets, and shop the silent auction. Buddy the Elf made a special appearance and Santa and Mrs. Claus kicked off their Christmas visits to the region.

“A sense of joy and wonder was evident in everyone’s faces,” said Nelson Barbosa, Past Chair of the Health Foundation. “Many people are new to Festival and had no idea what to expect. Returning and new guests alike shared how inspired they felt being together and focusing on a cause that affects all of us in the region.”

Over the past 33 years, the Festival of Trees has raised almost $11 million (net after all expenses) for regional healthcare initiatives, with over 35,000 volunteer hours invested by thousands of community members. Generations of families have volunteered to make this event special for others as it is truly a meaningful way to give back to the community.

On behalf of the Health Foundation Board and staff – thank you to everyone who participated at the 2022 Festival of Trees. Together we are making an impact by funding healthcare in our region and sharing the joy of the season.
