"I just can't say no to her." Patrick whispers during our first meeting and Ashley giggles with a twinkle in her eye.

This humble lobster fisherman knows he has the catch of his life with Ashley and he expresses his love to her in any way he can.

While creating her bouquet on the morning of their wedding, a large vase of flowers was delivered to the barn for Ashley. It's not unusual to receive flowers from guests who couldn't make the wedding so we thought nothing of it.
Later, tears filled our eyes when Ashley showed us the card in the flowers, from her husband to be.
That was a first, and Patrick was so proud that his flowers also matched their wedding.

Also a first, Bridesmaid's jackets in a color that matched the groomsmen and they look fantastic.

The Bride loves sage green, actually LOVES sage green, so we framed her head table in bunches and bunches of sage green silver dollar stems. And we must express our gratitude to a local flower farm, O'Sea Lavender and Cut Flower Farm, for the beautiful greenery and flowers seen on their head table.

Ashley and Patrick's love is a fun love and Ashley is a prankster, always looking for ways to scare Patrick. When he arrives home, he starts with a HELLO! ...followed by Hello, and then hellooooo in a faint whisper as he tiptoes around the house waiting for her to jump out of somewhere, and she does, and she always scares him. We love her spirit!

"So down to earth." "The most chill guy" " Always smiling" " A good friend" voiced his guests, and during the reception, Patrick had a group of friends sing a surprise song they made for him. It was nice to see this giving man have everyone wanting to express and show their love for him.

Ashley turned 30 while on her honeymoon, and we would like to wish her a belated Happy Birthday. 🥳

Their two pups, Maggie and Kobe, made a short appearance to have their photos with Mom and Dad, and Rick said they were absolute angels. Since he was the only person to get to meet them, we have a great excuse for an invitation for the Landry family return. ;-)

📷 - We were so pleased to have Brittany Gauthier Photography as their photographer for her first wedding at WW.
We met Brittany a couple of years ago when she was new to the market and stopped by to introduce herself with a brochure of her work. It was an instant connection as she is so kind and generous with her time, and we admire her professionalism.
Brittany, is passionately committed to her craft and stopped by several times before the wedding to make sure she had the correct settings/flash for the lighting in the barn. Her 2nd shooter, Photos by JennyNguyen, was equally committed beforehand and as you can see, they created magic together. 🤍

Chelsea and Mathieu's day.

Unique to the Ceremony, watching a Bridesmaid slip into her Officiant robe on stage to wed Chelsea and Mathieu.

Five very talented bakers were commissioned to create for Chelsea and Mathieu

To start the day, wedding dress cookies by Cake Lover.
A wedding cake by Mimi's cakes.
For the Groom's love of cheesecake, a Say Cheese Cake Photo Booth with cheesecake bites by local baker, Cindy Bakes.
For the Bride's love of Espresso Martinis, a late night "Pick Me Up" Espresso Martini Bar on the patio with an assortment of desserts, (and his favourite, Hello Dolly Squares) baked by Nanna's Bakery.
Last but not least, her take home, a beautiful cupcake bouquet to mimic her bouquet, by Sweet Blooms Cupcakery

How aprapro, sweets for a sweet couple.

The DJ played MTV music videos all night for their dance party, which is always fun to watch guests mimic what they see on the screen.

This post would be remiss without a shout out to their sweetest good boy Dewey who spent the evening with everyone in the barn. Earlier in the day he enjoyed himself, and we enjoyed watching him, cool off with a dip in the pond before the Ceremony.

Chelsea and Mathieu were an absolute joy to work with and we look forward to the day we see them again, and their good boy Dewey, who gives the most gentle kisses.

Val & Ken

We couldn't have imagined a more perfect couple to kick off our 2024 wedding season. Thoughtful. Loving. Humble. Caring. Kind. Generous. Fun.

Val and Ken wanted every guest, young and old, family and friend, to feel welcomed and appreciated. It was as if Val & Ken just happened to be getting married while their favourite people were present.

The Ceremony was full of unintended, but oh so perfect, drama. The song to saunter everyone down the aisle was 5 minutes and 28 seconds long and the flower girls were enjoying their moment, taking each petal they tossed seriously, and as if by magic, the Bride knew when choosing her song, that the Groom would take her hand and guide her to her spot on stage, landing at exactly 5:28.

The Save the Date caricature was created by a friend so it was only befitting that we carry the theme throughout. Besides, one can't help but smile back while looking at them.

Val and Ken couldn't be more perfect for each other. She is calm and meticulously thinks everything through, exactly what one would want in a surgeon, and Ken is understanding, confident and comforting, exactly what one would want in a husband.

Fate and music brought them together and a nice addition to the evening with music being important to Ken and Val, was a list of songs provided to the DJ titled, ' Sing Alongs' that everyone present would know the words to and sing along, together. 🎶 So much fun!

Every staff member would attest that they too were sincerely appreciated, that their happiness also mattered; Ken and Val were constantly vocalizing their gratitude for their hard work, and we thank them for that.

Rick and I look forward to the moment we get to see Val and Ken again, at 11thmile.yfc, to revisit the memories of their wedding, and to tell them one more time, thank you for being you, and thank you for the honour. xo

Having admired Wes Perry Photography from afar since 2017, we are extremely grateful to Val and Ken for having chosen Wes to be their photographer. Creative to creative, all I could say was, "Wow!" "Wow!" and "Wow" while looking through Val and Ken's gallery that they and Wes so graciously shared with us.

I'm not sure how, but looking through the 1044 photos it appears that Wes didn't miss a moment nor a detail and the 1044 photos told Val and Ken's story so beautifully.

Everyone had wonderful things to say about Wes and
we are incredibly inspired by his work, therefore, we cannot wait to see Wes return, to see where his creativity takes him next.

We share in the Bride's sentiment, so sad that it is all over,
but we are feeling extremely blessed that it happened.

About last night....

Feeling extremely grateful for another restaurant recommendation from a Bride and Groom,
this one - 11thmile.yfc in Fredericton.

The food, beverage, ambience and service IS worth the trip!!!
Limited seating, make reservations!

On our way into the restaurant a couple was exiting and gleefully commented, "Enjoy, it's delicious!"

We didn't think to take photos of everything, we were totally immersed in the moment, but by far the best pork belly, sweet potatoes and Brussel sprouts we have ever had.

Bonus, this crazy lady rides shotgun and her son gets an extra two hours of undivided attention and conversation each way.

Fireflies - a video cannot do the up close experience justice - it is as if diamonds are sparkling all around.

A former hockey player challenges a current hockey player, because he couldn't resist. When I asked if he would let him win, "Absolutely not!" he responded. For the record, the player with the first goal ended up winning the game, and more remarkably, while doing two things at once, chewing candy and showing his opponent how it's done - making it look easy.

Grateful for the 2021 Bride and Groom who sparked the tradition of the solo last dance 🩷 and grateful to learn today that this 2022 Bride and Groom will be at a 2024 wedding that we're crazy excited about! 🩷

An array of musicians, a Bride who sings like an angel, a Best Man who sheds happy tears for his brother, a Groom who tears up a dance floor, guests arriving by helicopter, fun family and friends, this wedding video fills our hearts with so many fond memories! There is an absolutely amazing drone shot of the property but that shot of their son, against the sliding door in the groom's room, THAT was pure AN Media magic. 🩵

After a beautiful wedding on Saturday, we had a lazy, nap all day kind of Sunday and we awoke to the email below from a couple who lives away. For us, THIS, is worth all the hours, the rose thorns, the blisters and potato chip dinners, to know we created special memories for couples whom we have grown to love. The sweetest 2:30am clip of their love. <3 --- Hi Shelley & Rick We couldn’t come to the reunion this summer but we would’ve loved to be there. We’re sitting on the beach in Italy thinking about how amazing our wedding day was and it was all because of you guys so we wanted to reach out and say thank you again. A beautiful family and a first for Whispering Willow, a third goose has been diligently co-parenting this year.

These tufted male ducks make the most adorable courting whistle. There is probably 60-70 ducks in the pond and only half a dozen females so the whistling has been non stop for days; have to respect their determination to win a lady over. <3
