The National Retail Federation's Mother's Day survey found that people were planning to buy the following gifts for their Moms.

Flowers - 64% planning to buy with an average spend of $19.62 per person.
Gift cards - 49% planning to buy with an average spend of $22.04 per person.
Special outings (such as dinner) - 46% planning to buy with an average spend of $31.26 per person.
Clothing/Accessories - 39% planning to buy with an average spend of $19.66 per person.
Jewelry - 34% planning to buy with an average spend of $40.38 per person.
Other - 27% planning to buy something else with an average spend of $8.46 per person.
Personal Service - 26% planning to buy with an average spend of $16.13 per person.
Houseware/Gardening Tools - 25% planning to buy with an average spend of $11.62 per person.
Books/CDs - 24% planning to buy with an average spend of $5.44 per person.
Electronics - 19% planning to buy with an average spend of $22.48 per person.
So flowers were the most popular gift choice with 64% of people planning to get their Mom a bunch for Mother's Day.

Men were the more likely gender to give their Mom flowers, with 73% planning to do it compared to only 57% of women.
