We waited as long as we could to get an uptick in sales, but they didn’t materialize, and the event is no longer viable.⁠
⁠
So many of you — ticket buyers, suppliers, supporters, musicians, businesses — believed in this dream with us, and we are so sorry to have disappointed you.⁠

We are offering some gorgeous body painting by in our activities area on Saturday & Sunday from 12-1:45pm

Kristin, of Cartizan Face Painting has been in the face painting business for nearly 15 years and loves to see the smiling faces of those that she’s painting, whether it be a child at a birthday party, and festival-goer, or an adult, decked out and dressed for a gala costume event.

So have some fun with it!

That's why we created the wristband system (instead of physical tickets!) ⁠

When you buy them before July 31, you get your wristband ✨mailed to you✨ ready to pre-load with however much $$$ you want to add to it, so you can just show up and dive right into the festival. ⁠💃🕺⁠

Any purchases after the 31st means you'll need to pick up your wristbands (aka your ticket to get in) at our pop-up box office on-site the week prior to the festival, or at Will Call.⁠

We celebrate the arts with a beautiful
Hoop dancing performance by Shanley Spence.
She will be performing Sunday Aug 14th in the Acivities Area.

Throughout her years, Shanley Spence has risen to become a prominent, well-known Indigenous community advocate. With roots of Nihithaw/Cree ancestry from her mother’s community of Pukatawagan and Saulteaux/Anishinaabe from her father’s community of Lake St. Martin First Nation. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Development from the University of Winnipeg. Shanley now helps bring healing, storytelling, and reclamation to people worldwide through her gifts of dance, content creation, writing, powwow fit, hoop dance, sharing her voice and speaking on important subjects and now branching out into a practicing Life and Empowerment Coach.

We can’t wait to see her dance!

Who doesn’t love Doughnuts? 🍩
As part of our eats is creating a special limited edition Currant Doughnut for our festival. We will only have a limited amount every day of the festival.

“Oh Doughnuts started back in 2014 with Amanda Kinden at the helm, using a rented kitchen space to supply local coffee shops. Now 6 years later we have two store fronts and big plans for the future.

We make our doughnuts fresh every day, with an ever changing menu of hundreds of unique gourmet flavours, from scratch.. Making doughnuts this delicious takes about 6 hours, starting with mixing and cutting the dough, to proofing, frying, and decorating the final product for a doughnut experience like no other. Crafting a doughnut is truly a labour of love, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We create our doughnuts to have as little impact as possible, sourcing as many ingredients that are not only local, but organic, as possible."

Saturday with a duo as hosts Jim Agapito & Joanne Rodriguez.
Jim is a jack-of-all-trades he hosts a podcast on CBC Radio One called Recovering Filipino, filmmaker, musician, journalist, storyteller to name a few.
Joanne is a proud prairie rocker as the lead vocalist of The Sorels, an actress & a ring announcer for WPW.

Sunday with Jay Richardson the new co-host of the morning show on Power 97 with Nic & Vic,
He also the voice you hear saying “Last min of play” at the WPG Jets games.

Well THAT was beyond annoying!! 😳 Who else was out last night and unable to pay for your food and drinks? Hopefully that was a once in a decade outage but the best way to avoid any inconvenience at CURRENT Festival is to pre-load your wristband! We’ll be sending out more info to ticket holders on what to expect with everything wristband-related, including how to pre-load them, in the next few weeks. A few things to note:
1. There is no limit to how much you can pre-load.
2. ALL unused amounts will be refunded to your credit card after the festival. No “unused drink ticket” situation to worry about!
We believe that convenience is the ultimate luxury. ✨
