Thank you to all of you who came out to our Lapping / Time Attack / Touge event yesterday.

We had a great turn out of 30, with a mix of sedans and formula cars.

Congrats to our U1 Class winner Gordon Wong, who also set the Fastest Time of Day with a 1:11.649.

S2 Class winner was Ryan Villanueva with his Mitsubishi Evo X.

U2 Class winner was Daryle Redlin with his Nissan Micra Cup Car.

Our most consistency award went to Ed Peramaki in his Mazda MX5. Ed's best 2 laps of the day was only 0.186 apart.

It was also our first time to run Touge Battles under CACC.
First place in GT Class went to Jamie Spezowka in his Chevrolet Camaro.
Winner of the 4 Banger N/A Class was Ed Peramaki in his Mazda MX-5.
and the Winner of EV Class was Rostyslav Smirnov.

Congratulations again to all class winners.

Touge fans, Are You Ready?

Touge Competition Events have been approved by the CACC and coming to a race track near you this summer....

These events are conducted at a permanent motorsport facility in which there are two cars on track at a time. There is no passing. The event is less than one lap long.
There is a standing start with two cars at staggered intervals (stagger should be between 50 and 100 metres). The cars run the course to the finish line – less than one track lap - and the finish line may or may not be the facility's main start/finish line.
If the lead car increases the gap they win; if the trail car closes the gap they win. The winning car progresses; the losing car is out.
When there are 10 or less cars in competition, the completion becomes a best of three event. Upon crossing the finish line the cars slow and move back to the start position but swap starting positions (i.e., the lead car is now the trail car with the trail car now being the lead car).
Cars that are put out in the first round in group A may be slotted into group B for a runner up event.
The partial course may be run in the reverse of the typical event, pending the CACC Executive Steward's approval of the revised course.

Once again VMSC is teaming up with SFMC to bring a combined Time Attack and Lapping event. Take your pick between CACC Time Attack, for experienced licensed drivers, or Lapping Only for those who are newer or not in possession of a CACC Time Attack license and wanting to gain track experience and practice their skills.

Open to all 2024 CACC Competition or Officials licence holders and members of 2024 CACC-affiliated Clubs, this seminar has something for everyone - Autoslalom, Karting, Lapping, Time Attack and Road and Vintage Racing. The seminar will be held at the Delta Marriott Grand Villa in Burnaby, and will be presented both live and online, making attendance easy for all, including our out of town members!

The seminar is limited to 60 in-person attendees and is expected to fill up quickly so register soon. The seminar will livestream on Zoom for those who cannot attend live so you can now participate from almost anywhere! Lunch will be included for in-person attendees of the event.

The Speed-Fanatics Motorsports Club (SFMC) is offering a one day on track, focused race driver training school around the Speed-Fanatics Motorsports Circuit at Mission Raceway Park on Sunday Apr 7th, 2024.

Our one day program is perfect for those who have previous track experience and would like to learn more about racing knowledge, techniques, and procedures.

Prior to the one day track event, there will be an online classroom session held via Zoom on March 30th at 10am PST.

The classroom session will in depth go through subjects such as seating positions, racing lines, vehicle dynamics, racing knowledge, theory, flags, procedures and conducts involved to become a race driver.

All instructors involved in teaching this course are CACC/ASN licensed race instructors who are currently racing locally and around the world.

The program rapidly picks up the pace as you learn and experience each aspect of racing with in car instructing on the race track.

This is the ideal program to help motorsport enthusiasts in having their dreams come true.

Upon successful completion of this program, students will receive a Certification of Completion document which will be needed in applying for their novice race licenses with the CACC.

Final official results now posted from our Aug 15th Time Attack Event at Speed-Fanatics Motorsports Circuit in Mission Raceway Park.

It was our pleasure to see several personal bests set and improvements between runs from the entrants.

Congratulations to Jamie Spezowka who won our most consistent award with a split between his 2 best runs at 0.143s.

Fastest Time of Day went to Gary Kwong with a 1:13.109 in his 2017 Subaru STI.

Congrats to Zachary Brown on setting the Fastest Time of the Day with a lap time of 1:17.372 in his Custom Zefr.

Dear SFMC Members,
The SFMC and Victoria Motorsports Club are cohosting the 2nd round of Time Attack series events at the Vancouver Island Motorsports Circuit, Duncan BC on Canada Day Jul 1st from 9am to 5pm.

Besides competing for the SFMC Time Attack Championships, this is also counted as a CACC Regional Series Event; which means your results from our events along with the VCMC and VMSC events can all be counted towards your CACC Championship points.
Our Time Attack events is to be run in the Non-Passing format. Drivers with different experience levels are all welcomed to join.
Drivers are grouped by their lap times and vehicle class to ensure that they are evenly matched in pace during their runs.
Time Attack is a bridge between lapping and door to door racing; it helps drivers to perfect their driving techniques and your biggest opponent is yourself.
Please sign up for the novice group if you have no previous track nor autocross experiences. Novices will be put in their own group and instructors will be offered to help them learn the lapping basics as well as to master their techniques. Timing will not be offered to novices; therefore, CACC time attack licenses are not needed to run in the novice group.
Entry Fee is $375 (not including transponder rental)
The club has a fleet of rental transponder available and they are based on first come first serve basis at $35/event; the VIMC also has their fleet of rental transponders as a back up.
SFMC Membership is included when you register your first event with us.

𝟐 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤

When you're dealing with high levels of acceleration, braking, and lateral g's, there is constant stress put on the body.

Physical fatigue then becomes a byproduct due to the stress imposed both mentally and physically.

If you want to be more consistent with lap times and avoid performance fatigue, here are 2 key fundamentals you need to work on.

1. Breath work

Properly breathing allows your body to not only lower it's working heart rate, but also calm your nervous system.

This helps lower stress and allows for a bigger mental bandwidth during your track days.

2. Stabilization

By creating stability in your body, you're better able to handle the physical strains that motorsports can place on the body.

The more stable you are, the larger the bandwidth you can then create for strength and endurance.

This will make driving more enjoyable, and easier for you in the long term.

Hi Everyone, as there are limited numbers of senior Time Attack license holders entered to the May 12th event, we'd like to share the track time for those who'd like to just come for test and tune, and lapping experience.
There will be senior race license holders at the track to provide coaching.
If you are one of those who just want to come out to the track and get the seat time in, please register for the "Relaxed Lapping / Novice" group during registration process.
