I expect that most people would assume that the exchange of wedding bands is a required part of a wedding ceremony. It actually is not. However, couples exchange wedding bands to wear as a symbol of their commitment and love for one another!

When I saw Ed Viersen's post this morning that today is Ed and Sophie's 5th anniversary, I was pleasantly surprised. I was not surprised that Ed and Sophie are celebrating 5 years, but I was surprised that today is also the 5th anniversary of my very first wedding ceremony as a celebrant! 166 ceremonies later, the gratification I feel every time I help a couple get married only continues to grow over time. This is one of those things I can see myself doing for many more years to come!
Congratulations to Sophie and Ed, and thank you for going out on a limb and trusting the newbie with your precious day.

I love a wedding in the countryside! The rain held off for a couple of hours, and we had a beautiful ceremony with Magda and Connor.

We opened up Country Vegas Elopements in the midst of the pandemic as a way to stay afloat during all the craziness that was happening at the time. It there was one thing we knew for sure, love would conquer all. Folks were going to continue to get married up, no matter what! What we have learned since is that eloping is now fashionable, and as a matter of fact, more couples are eloping than ever before. It is simple, cheaper and saves on endless hours of planning and stress. We can also accommodate up to 30 guests in case they won't let you sneak away!
