Feeling overwhelmed with the vendor inquiry process? With some preparation and strategy, you can make the process more efficient. Here are four tips to help you get started:
1. Research
Review the vendor's website and social media to understand their style and offerings. This will help ensure their services align with your vision and budget. Doing this beforehand will save you time in the long run.
2. Method of Inquiry
Use the vendor's preferred method of inquiry to ensure a prompt response. For example, if they request that you DM them, send a message. If they have an inquiry form on their website, use it!
3. Be Specific
Provide details such as your wedding date, location, guest count, and other important information. This will help them understand your needs and provide you with an accurate quote. If you have a specific vision, share it! The more information you provide, the better the vendor can assist you.
4. Say Hi
Don’t underestimate the power of a simple “hello” to start your inquiry. This simple gesture goes a long way in showing that you are interested in working with them and value their time. When I receive inquiries that literally say “pricing please,” I already know that is not the client for me. Add in some extra wording, such as "I love the work you've shared on Instagram, and I can't wait to hear from you.”
BONUS. Don't Ghost
Don’t leave us hanging. Let the vendor know if you're no longer interested.
