As fun as the sparkler send off is, and the romantic gold hour session, some of favourite photos to look back on are the ones with my family and friends smiling and laughing (or chewing on their hands:). Always reminds me of the true reasons for having a wedding... to celebrate!!

Why do we decorate?

Your wedding is just one day, only a few short hours, and costs more money then you’d rather.... so why put time and energy into decorating?

Hygge is a danish word that was trending a while ago, I’m sure most of you know it! This word spoke to me as I knew exactly what this feeling of cozy was, and how important it was! Hygge is, for me, the answer to the question why decorate.
Wedding decor sets the stage for this feeling of cozy. Lit candles, fresh florals, the glasses sparkling.... and the sound of your guests enjoying the good things in life with friends ✨

Black people do not need allies. We need people to stand up and take on the problems borne of oppression as their own, without remove or distance.
We need people to do this even if they cannot fully understand what it’s like to be oppressed for their race or ethnicity, gender, sexuality, ability, class, religion, or other marker of identity. We need people to use common sense to figure out how to participate in social justice.
Don't tell us about your racist uncle or grandfather or sister or cousin.

Don't try to unburden yourself of guilt that isn't yours to carry. Actively listen when marginalized people tell you about their oppression—don't offer your pity (which only helps you) and don't apologize. Listen and do your best to understand what it feels like to live with oppression as a constant. Speak up when you hear people making racist jokes. Speak up when you see injustice in action. Inform yourself about your local law enforcement and how they treat people of color. Vote. Take a stand instead of waiting for absolution from people of color. We don't have that kind of time. We're fighting for our lives.
