I wasn’t going to grow lisianthus this year, I really wasn’t, but of course I went ahead and bought 400 seeds of different colours from , heavily influenced by a lovely West Flamborough flower farmer lady I met while there…I’ll keep them for next year, when I’ll have a better-developed growing area and an expanded business, but….I had to have 12, just 12 of the sultry “Roseanne Brown” to grace my bouquets this July. I’ve started lisianthus later, when I didn’t know how long they really take to bloom, and I’ve stared them much earlier than this. Blooms mid-late July either way. I think the weather has as much to do with bloom time as does sow date. Flowers shown, including a few Lovely lissies, were grown in my community garden in Dundas a few years ago.
