If your florist leaves you some extra blooms and you’re wondering what they’re for, give them to your photographer!

They will use them for flat lays and other detail shots to help elevate the photos and ensure cohesiveness with your wedding design 🫶🏼

How early is too early to book your vendors? Some may say never. I say it depends on the type of vendor and also their process. Also how eager you are to book your first choice!

For example:

Venue - ASAP

Planner - right after your venue!

Photography & Videography - definitely vendors you want to book early on! Especially if you LOVE someone in particular. When booking you will sign your documents, send your deposit, maybe fill out a questionnaire and then you won’t speak again until much closer to the wedding. Now, are there some photographers and videographers that check in and send reminders & tips throughout your planning process? Absolutely! But most are pretty hands off during that time.

Catering - another big one if it’s not included with your venue. Similar to photo/video, you will book a time to chat, officially book then the bulk of your work together happens closer to the wedding when you’re finalizing menu selections and sending final numbers/dietary restrictions. You will however, have a tasting at some point leading up and that’s a fun excuse to have a date night!

Hair & Makeup - this is one that NEEDS to be booked ASAP if you care who is doing your glam on your wedding day. These vendors book up quickly!

These are just some examples and some food@for thought. If you’re working with a planner, they will guide you and let you know when you should be booking who. Keep in mind most vendors are being booked 10-12 months out!

The calm before the storm. Did you know that as guests arrive my team and I make a point of asking your guests to please not put their coats, bags or other personal belongings at the table? This way, your photographer can get those gorgeous detail shots of your design!

✨Scissors
✨BBQ Lighters
✨Shout Wipes/Tide to Go
✨Glue Dots
✨Double Sided Tape
✨Sewing Kit

If you’re considering building a personal emergency kit, some of these are not necessary and hopefully you have a vendor on your team with them.

In a personal kit you’ll need things like Tylenol, tampons, deodorant, mints, hairspray, lint roller etc. Sewing kit, scissors, body tape and stain remover still apply!

Vendor meals: some of your vendors will include in their contract that they require a meal, provided to them during dinner, so don’t forget to give them a table to eat at as well!

Some venues have specific spots they seat vendors at, sometimes you need to creat a vendor table. Sometimes you can seat us with your guests where it works!
•
Vendors that require meals:
Planners/Coordinators
Photographers
Videographers
DJs
Live musicians

(Usually) Not expected but appreciated:
Bar staff
Live artists

If ever you’re uncertain who requires a meal just check your contract or just ask! Your planner should be able to let you know.
•
From a planner: thank you for every meal, every seat, every place card and menu. Although required, your generosity does not go unappreciated! You’d be surprised how many food pics and place cards we’ve collected over the years and bring back fond memories of your wedding.
