Awesome dance caller & folklorist/musician Jean-François Berthiaume is coming to Sudbury to call the dance at the Fete de Rois AND we've managed to convince him to do a dance caller's workshop in the afternoon - learn to have a go at calling yourself! NOT TO BE MISSED! Limited numbers.

Banjo player Hannah Shira Naiman and fiddler Nathan Smith met while performing at a winter house concert, and they became fast friends, sharing a love of harmony singing, songwriting, and celebrating old songs and fiddle tunes. Since then, they have joined forces for jams, square dances, album recordings, and now finally get to perform their music together as a duo.
Honoured with Traditional Singer of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards for her album Know the Mountain (2016), Hannah Shira Naiman combines her powerful songwriting and impressive musicianship to deliver exciting contemporary versions of the traditional music she was raised on. This fall, Hannah released her long-awaited third full-length album, The Wheels Wonât Go; featuring songs inspired by her move from Toronto to northern Ontario, the COVID pandemic, and her experience of new motherhood.
Originally from North Bay, ON, Nathan Smith is a fiddle player and singer-songwriter whose upbeat and soulful original songs and fiddle tunes combine a deep wealth of experience playing bluegrass and old-time music with a lifetime of playing traditional Canadian fiddle tunes. His 2020 debut album "Let it Rest, Let it Rise" showcases a diverse array of compositions inspired by family, community, and the Northern landscape.
