||DON'T OVERTHINK IT||
If you're waiting for the perfect, grandest, most Instagrammable moment to propose you might miss an opportunity. When you love the everyday things about each other, an ordinary moment could be the most memorable.

||WEDDING S.O.S||
Remember that show Wedding SOS with Jane Dayus-Hinch? That was my first glimpse into the real magic behind weddings and when I realized it's not all champagne toasts and saying yes to the dress.

That show exposed everything from budget restrictions to unrealistic timelines and M.I.A. vendors. And right when you thought, "Is this wedding even happening?", Jane had the happy couple walking down the aisle in less than 30 minutes. Crises averted!

While the drama was enticing, no one wants to deal with that mess in real life but some weddings can't be fixed between commercial breaks.

If you're in the throws of wedding planning and not sure what kind of assistance you can afford read my blog, "Finding the Right Help for your Wedding" (link in bio) for more information about different wedding planning services available to you.

||LOVE NOTES||
Create a budget. Granted it's the least romantic part of wedding planning but without one, you'll be feeling butterflies in your stomach with every invoice and not in a good way.

Have a general idea of what you're comfortable spending on your wedding and where you want the money to go.

Talk to your mate and figure out your priorities. Do you want really good food? Maybe the entertainment is important to you? Or do you want stunning photos at a breathtaking locale? Rank your must-have items and figure out roughly how much your willing to allocate.

If your family is chipping in, understand what that contribution looks like and how it impacts the budget. Of course, these numbers won't be exact but knowing what you have going in, will help you make better decisions in the end.

I'd love to know what your must-haves are? I know this post is all about the budget but if money didn't matter, tell me what you would do for your dream wedding?

||LOVE NOTES||
If you're just starting to plan your wedding you probably won't have the exact wedding date just yet. Your date will usually depend on the availability of the officiant and your venue. Before you nail anything down start thinking about a general wedding timeframe.

Is there a certain season or month you'd like to get married?

Is there a date that's meaningful for both of you?

Will you have enough time to plan and book vendors?

Are there other life events that will impact your date?

After discussing these and similar questions with your partner and consulting an online wedding checklist, you can set a realistic wedding timeline and start putting your plans in motion.

Let me know some of the factors you're considering that have impacted your wedding date?

And just like that, you’ve become the Chief Event Organizer (CEO) of one of the biggest moments of your life. Let the wedding planning begin!

Like most CEO’s you can expect a lot more work and longer hours. The downside is, your salary won’t increase and you’ll have to squeeze this work in between you’re regular job, family and other commitments but the benefits are incredible!

Now, I don’t know what your schedule was like pre-engagement but this might be a good opportunity to get some help. So, what are your options?

While full time Wedding Planners are worth their weight in gold, your budget may not allow for one or your event might not require that level of support. You could hire a Coordinator to assist on your special day but you’ll still have many months of planning to figure out on your own.

How does a CEO get things done when time and resources are limited? They hire people who know what they’re doing. Someone affordable, who can help hit those planning milestones and bring it all together at the final stretch. Where do you find someone like that?

Right here!

As a Virtual Wedding Assistant, I use my experience in the wedding planning industry to help couples achieve their vision at an affordable price. You pay for what you need, saving time and money when you outsource tasks like vendor research, decor sourcing, managing your bridal party and vendor communications. Your customized wedding day package has everything you need to ensure your wedding day is set up for success.

If this sounds like the middle ground you’re looking for, check out my website (link in bio) or DM/ email me for more information. I can’t wait to hear from you.

Tell me what stresses you out about wedding planning?

Gabrielle

Picture this- you’re at your cousin's wedding surrounded by a sea of family and friends. All of a sudden you spot that one unfamiliar face in the crowd. They’re carrying a clipboard in one hand, walkie-talkie in the other and making quite a statement with what looks like a f***y pack. They move ...
