We all need a reminder once in a while!

North Bay Pride is putting on “Pride in Holidays” which will be shared through Facebook on December 23, 2020 @ 730pm.

It will be shared through various Pride Organizations across Canada. The hope is to remind folks, you are not alone over the holidays.

Jason Maclennan, Communications Director for North Bay Pride had the following to say:
“Every year around the holidays su***de rates go up. People struggle to get through them because they feel alone, or they have been disowned by their family. And this year, Covid 19 is playing a major factor on people’s mental health. We just want to remind you, that you are not alone. We have messages and songs from various people to share this reminder, some are well known, some you have never seen before. The message is the same, you are part of our communities and we will get through this together. Reach out for help if you need it and there is no shame in sharing your struggle with mental health.”

Clifford Hummel, CEO of North Bay Pride, followed up with the following, “Usually, prides focus in on pride season and work towards the following year. This year, we recognize that people are struggling especially with their mental health for so many reasons. Jason came to us and said, lets do something to remind folks they are not alone, and here we are. Amazing people sharing the same messages, with prides across Canada coming together to share the same message. What more could anyone want over the holidays.”

This comic is all about 'creepin it real'. (It's HALLOWEEN - he isn't a creep!)

Indigenous comic, Kevin Shawanda, Sudbury based comedian, once again taking the stage to ensure you are prepared to laugh.

Raised in the small reservation of Birch Island on the north shore of Lake Huron.

He quickly developed an energetic sense of humour and need for attention. He doesn’t have a great deal of credits, but his mom once told him that he wasn’t as bad as some of the other comedians, and she really likes some of his skits.

(Nah... we like him, not just because his Mom said so... thus, he is back!)

It is indeed challenging during times like this.
We are, however, fortunate that this venue is set up in such a way that we can deliver comedy, while you enjoy a meal and/or drinks and be safe.

Each booth is plexiglassed in and we just ask that when you are not seated, that we respect one another and wear a mask.

This is also why our seats are limited.

That being said... Man oh man... to go out, dress up, have a great time with some friends!? YES PLEASE!

Let's introduce you to our first comic, in the line-up.

Robert Simoneau:

Robert is a comedian that comes from the small town of Gogama and brings that small town humour to the stage. First time performing was at the Comedy Idle competition in Timmins in 2006. Since then he has had a passion to make people laugh.
Even with the pandemic you can still find Robert doing some comedy shows from time to time on Facebook.

Meet the Comics:

Rylan Stolar is a comedian from Northern Ontario. He has dabbled in the hobby for 8 years. When not hosting his own comedy nights in Sudbury, he likes to travel around Ontario and do whatever stage time presents itself.
