For a while, December Holidays were secluded for q***r people. Yes, there are house parties celebrating the holidays but we longed for a celebration that brings our community together - the q***r desi family!!

With a hope to satisfy this need in mind, we put our minds to create the first ever “HOLIDAY BASH” - the premier Bollywood Holiday party for q***r desis and it came to life, on Fri Dec 30, 2022.

We wanted a club feel, like a true party and hosted it at the erstwhile - a very sexy club venue in the core of Downtown Toronto.

Our favourite resident DJ was on 🔥with killer mixes from 90s item numbers to club bangers! He rocked the crowd and the crowd rocked with him! Huge gratitude for his immense talent!

**Fun Fact: It rained and snowed and rained through that day but the love for dancing triumphed and the venue was packed with a line up of people outside. This was a truly memorable night!!!

After 2 years of minimal in-person connections, PRIDE in 2022 was a huge deal. Still recovering from fears of the pandemic, this event posted a lot of questions, challenges and opportunities for Tashan. We were new, we hadn’t hosted a massive Pride event like other outfits and we wanted to make a mark for ourselves.

With that conviction, we put our minds and got to work. A week before the pride festival in Toronto, we hosted “THE PRIDE THUMKA” - the first ever in person pride event by Tashan on Sat, Jun 18, 2022

We were so lucky to have hosted it at - an iconic music concert venue in Toronto that has hosted the likes of U2 and Rolling Stones!

We invited the OG - the best of the best Q***r Bollywood DJs from NYC - who has spun killer tracks for for over 2 decades! A true honor for us indeed.

And we invited back for a second time to rock a fantastic performance of multiple medleys for Tashan and they killed it!

Fun Fact: In a first of many times, the host of Tashan - ’s family joined him at this event. Indeed a memorable moment for family and q***r allies to stand shoulder to shoulder in support of such spaces! Proof in the pictures ;)

Tashan’s second event was DIVALICIOUS that happened in Jan 2020, just before the sh*t was stirring up on our planet. The event was an ode to the true icons of Bollywood - the Divas - classic and new, with spinning mesmerizing mixes and nostalgic item numbers of Bollywood.

We were so lucky to have hosted it at - an eminent q***r theatre & event space in the historical Church-Wellesley Neighborhood of Toronto. The event was a smashing success, as you can see with the stellar photography by our beloved .

Fun Fact : made her Toronto Bollywood Drag Debut at TASHAN. She is a powerhouse talent who is now on current Season 5 of . Little did everyone know that 5 years into future, the WORLD would call her a TRUE STAR! Actually, knew this was a star in the making! 😎😉

Apart from Tashan, a host of other QTBIPOC (Q***r, Trans, Brown/Black, Indigenous, People of Color) groups and folks will occupy various spots on Hanlan’s Beach.

There will be music, light refreshments, and social discussions to meet and hang out with fellow desi and q***r people of color.

Patrons are responsible for their to/fro travel to the islands. Please note that Hanlan’s is a clothing optional beach, however you are free to wear or not wear your swimwear during this event.
