Colleen began riding on the family’s cattle ranch near Calgary at a very young age. She grew up showing hunter/jumpers and participating in various western-riding events, including rodeo. Colleen moved to the United States to pursue her academic studies and a career in agricultural publishing, public relations and marketing. While her passion for horses never diminished, training and competition took a back seat for a few years until a gangly, 18+ HH, 7-year-old Canadian Sport Horse stole her heart. Together, the partnership worked its way through the dressage levels to Grand Prix, earning USDF bronze, silver and gold medals, as well as regional championships along the way. While training in California with Rebecca Rigdon and David Blake, Colleen was introduced to their coach Guenter Seidel, who trained and competed internationally with Zero Gravity. Colleen was looking for her next FEI mount a few years later, and Zero became available. The pair have been partners for five years.
