So many rocks to haul in yet, but it’s starting to take shape. Digging them all up in the bush. We’ve also goat loads of bricks that were finding the in the bush from old out buildings. I’m tying them in, through paths and edging.

Just want to thank everyone for the love and support this last summer.

We could feel the love & prayers, as some were answered.

Thanks to family & friends for being there for us and particularly Ashley as she’s gone through this incredibly different time of her life.

It will be a tough season of life for a while, but the love and support from all of you has been incredible.

We’ve seen the texts, and messages and will respond. It’s just been all a little overwhelming at this point. Know that, we have seen them and we appreciate each and every one of you.

We ask for continued prayers as we navigate the future. There is a hole that cannot possibly be filed, but we can rest assured she is in a better place and we will in fact see her again.

Patti was my fishing buddy when Ashley and I started dating. Before we had kids. I’ll never forget the little snake we caught together alone when everyone was up weighing their catches at the tournament. Was just a 20” pike. Maybe less, but it is one of the best memories I have. I’ll never forget it.

It has taken me a while to find that pre 2020 inspiration that really motivated me. The farm has brought it back, giving me an opportunity to do exactly what I dreamed of. I’m in it for the long haul. I don’t have the funds to make this happen overnight, but sept 19. 2024 showed me that everything we are trying to do is working. It will pay off in the end. If nothing else, it quenches the thirst of what I feel I was meant to do. A part of it anyways as what I want to do and what I should be doing are completely different stories. Post for another time.
Anyways, farm to table is alive and well. We take it very seriously.

This evening we had the wonderful experience of watching Betty (one of our goats) give birth to not 1, not 2, but 3 babies. . My dog was barking at the barn so I went out to see what was up. She’d bark, then look at me, then the barn, and repeat. Shortly after I heard the kid cry. I bolted to the barn to find the first kid with mom. Within the next 15 minutes two more kids were born. . Not an ideal day for it as we had a Manitoba spring snow storm, but hey what’s the point of doing this without a little excitement and challenge. . We’ve got them bedded up in a warm spot. Praying they all make it. Our other female goat should be due any day now as well. If she could wait until next week that would be excellent. . . Soon we will have a steady supply of goat milk, some of the best quality goat milk in the world (the bread). This will spearhead our goat cheese experimentation. The entire purpose of having them.
