Not sure about you… but over here at Primrose, we’re still pretty obsessed with the new Wicked movie! We made a sister reel a few weeks back honouring Glinda, the Good Witch, but I couldn’t leave you hanging (or flying) any longer. Here is our Elphaba-themed wedding! 💚
Defying gravity AND expectations… think lush, dramatic green decor to honour Elphaba’s iconic hue, a moody, black bridal fit including all of the essential elements — a witches “hat” and cape, shimmering silver shoes, and a smouldering green smoky eye. We’ve added poppies in her bouquet, since they are her favourite after all, and pops of pampas and other dried grasses for a nod to Fiyero and her broomstick. A candlelit dinner and signature green elixir cocktails, really bring it together, creating vibes so bold, they’re practically spellbinding! For Elphaba and all who dare to embrace the extraordinary and unafraid to rewrite the rules. 🖤💚
Did we miss anything? Anyone else out there just as obsessed as us? And, what about you? Would you ever dare to have an Elphaba-themed wedding?

Up next with Primrose’s Holiday Help (I just made that up now) is a tutorial on how to tie velvet bows for your tree!
For those of you who know me know that I LOVE a kitschy, vintage Christmas tree. The multi-colours, the different textures, the memories, and of course the nostalgic feeling it brings. And while these 90s Christmas trees are described as “vintage” (oh god), I prefer to think of them just as FUN. No real colour palette, no rules, any and every ornament you’ve collected over the years, and TINSEL. It’ll be sure to fill that holiday cheer when you turn your tree on at night. Now all we need is Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” to play! 🎄🎶
SO! This tutorial is fairly simple, but it might take a couple of tries and a bit of practice. Don’t worry, you’ll get it in no time. And if you’re planning on having a lot of bows for your tree, well…. there ya go! There’s your practice! Hah! You can attach little wires to these bows, but I was lazy and just laid them on the tree. Remember? NO RULES!
Oh and by the way, these bows also go with pretty much any style of Christmas tree. Want to go traditional with red and gold? Opt for a burgundy velvet bow! Want a peppermint candy-style tree? Go get that 🍭! (PS Michaels is having a buy 2, get 3 free sale at the moment!!) 🎀🎀🎀
Have fun and happy holidays!

We love taking old traditions and switching it up just a bit!
Having particular sides for people to sit at a ceremony is old news, but so is making sure your parents sit on the same side as where you’re standing! So… switch it!
Having parents sit opposite allows them to see their child’s face during the ceremony, rather than the back of their heads! I don’t know about you, but as a new parent myself… I will for sure be sitting on the opposite side to see my baby girl’s face as she gets married! Just make sure you let your entire family know at the ceremony rehearsal PRIOR to the wedding to avoid confusion on the day of!

Sometime’s I am just on 🔥! What can I say?!
Haha!! To be honest, this happens not so often… But that’s GOOD! I like the back and forth and making sure the proposal is either exactly what our clients want, or something that they never knew they wanted until they see it! Rarely does an artist get it on the first go… there’s lots of fine tweaking that needs to be done and we want our clients to be so excited for their wedding design!
Aaaaand I really just wanted to use this video edit. Anything with Michael Scott is 👌🏼😂
So, what do you think? Need some help with a wedding design?! You know who to come to! Our 2025 books are OPEN and we want to meet you!

Even though the pandemic is long over, it brought about a trend of small weddings, micro-weddings, and elopements, like never before. Obviously, this was the case because large gatherings weren’t allowed, but it also provided an option for those couples getting married that didn’t want go the route of big weddings. It allowed for a more intimate experience, it typically cost less, and you could travel to unique places. Reasons such as these are why micro-weddings are still super popular. We love a good small wedding, here at Primrose, and here are 4 ideas to consider if planning a small wedding!

…. Makes sense! Everything I do right now is from 9:00 pm - 1 am 😂. Good thing I am productive at night!
Busy season is upon us, which means lots and lots of overtime hours for business owners! I know for myself, I’m in the final orders stages for some clients, design proposal stage for our new clients, and somewhere in-between for the others! Hoping to finish up with our later season weddings ASAP and then it’s smooth sailing from here on out! (🤣🤣 if only!)

Being a new mom and a business owner with a busy season coming up, is no joke! I mean, I could get all deep about it and talk about how I feel emotionally, but for now, let’s just laugh and make funny reels 😅😂 We’ll have the real stuff for another time!

2018 Wedding! Don’t get me wrong, we absolutely loved our wedding day! Everything was just perfect. But as time has gone on and I’ve learned so much more about weddings and wedding preferences since becoming a planner and designer, here are just a few things that I would change if I were getting married this year!
1. smaller guest count: Nathan and I have always been a small-group type of couple. We had 120 people at our wedding, and I could probably cut that down to 60 today. Nothing wrong with who was invited, I just prefer a smaller and more intimate vibe!
2. more elaborate ceremony altar design: This was a combination of not wanting to hide the view with a ceremony arch and a budget thing. Nowadays, there are so many ground or mid-height arch/floral design options that I would go with (and probably afford with a smaller guest count). I loved what we had, but it was a little simple and kind of got lost.
3. more florals: Similarly to the above change, I was on a budget for florals so I couldn’t get too many. I absolutely LOVED our florist (Kelly from @fallforflorals ) and would go with them 100 times over and just order more! Flowers are my favourite part of the wedding design!
4. more desserts: This one was just a miscount on my end. I figured everyone would be too full for dessert and not take too much. But, the kids went through the dessert table first and took nearly half the stuff before anyone else could. 🙃 So, I know now to order more! Also, ice cream. My husband’s favourite desserts are pie and ice cream and we didn’t have either 😔.
5. do private vows at our first look: I just love this new trend. I am a pretty shy person, so I think I would have felt more comfortable doing vows just with Nathan. I wouldn’t have felt too worried about crying or the things I wrote in them if I knew it would be just us two!
6. no head table: I loved being with my closest friends at a table, but I would probably opt for a King’s table style nowada
🚨🚨🚨
7 ways you can cut back and perhaps save some money for your wedding!
1. Off-season weddings: may be a little trickier in Edm if you’re wanting an outdoor wedding, but as long as you have a backup (bad weather) option, pushing a little further into October or earlier in April or May may not be a bad idea! Of course, there’s always the option of stunning winter weddings too! Off season sometimes means cheaper rates and more availability!
2. Choose the right venue! Sometimes it may seem daunting picking a venue that may be more expensive up front, but if it comes with all the tables and chairs that you need, along with decor items, then it may be cheaper to go that route! I would also spend a little more on a venue that has natural character or has been updated/renovated recently. You won’t need as much “stuff” to make it beautiful!
3. While big cakes may be a stunning piece of art, cake cutting traditions seem to not be as popular as they once were. Opt for a smaller 1-tier cake if you do decide to do a cake cutting and you can use that money elsewhere!
4. Saturday weddings are the most expensive! If you can consider a Friday (or even another day) then you could probably save a few dollars! Especially if you are having a destination wedding and all your guests are travelling anyways! 2 years ago we had a Wednesday wedding and this upcoming summer we have a Monday wedding!
5. I’m sure you’ve seen this everywhere by now, but if you can use your ceremony flowers in your reception, you can save THOUSANDS! Why have your ceremony arch installation only be used for 30 mins?! Bring that baby to the reception!
6. If anything else on this list is a no-go, but you still want to save some money… the best place to save is your guest count. If you can cut back on some people, you can save anywhere from $50-$250 per guest!
7. Go virtual! Everything is virtual these days and your invitations don’t need to be any different! Not only does it sav
