3️⃣ ceremony tips for your upcoming wedding! (Plus a bonus tip below!)
1. You’re going to want to stop briefly at the start of the aisle. This pause will allow you to gather yourself, have a moment of connection with your fiancé at the altar, the photographer to snap some pics, and if you’re wearing a dress, your coordinator will be able to quickly fluff and send you on your way looking as perfect as can be!
2. Make sure you have a ceremony rehearsal? What’s that?! Exactly what you might think! PRACTICE! Practice where people will stand and the order of who walks first! Practice how to hold your bouquet or how to interlock arms with another member of the wedding party. Practice how you’ll go from walking with parents to standing at the altar with your significant other! Will you hug them? Will they hug your parents? Who hugs first? Maybe they will shake hands?! You DON’T want to be figuring this out in the moment.
3. Ensure your officiant knows to step out of the way when the kiss is about to happen, AND, when the officiant says to kiss, PAUSE AGAIN for them to leave before the kiss happens. This will ensure picture perfect moment.
BONUS TIP: if you’re having an outdoor ceremony, use golf tees in the ground to mark where centre is on the altar. If you or your officiant feels off-centre, you can look down and shift accordingly!
If all of this seems a little too much, it might be a good idea to hire a wedding coordinator! Feel free to reach out! We can’t wait to meet you 🤍

I think we should start making this a series of quick wedding day tips for all you nearly-weds! Today’s edition is for getting ready in the morning!
1. You never want to have to pull something over your head on the wedding morning. We get it! Those marching sweatsuits are amazing, buttttt make sure you can zip it off!
2. Natural light is the wedding day 🐐. Not only is it key for doing hair and makeup, but your photographers love it too!
3. Please do not go hungry or leave your wedding party hungry either. I made this mistake on my wedding day (oops — I promise this was before I was a planner) and good thing my SIL came in clutch and picked up some delicious sandwiches from a local store. Make sure people are fed. Fed people are happy people! Haha
And, the bonus tip is…
Make sure you have a fun playlist ready for you in the morning. If you don’t want this task, give it to you MOH, but you’re gonna want fun vibes while getting ready! Bonus points if it includes “Perfect day” by Hoku!

My heart is going THROUGH it waiting to see if they like it! 😅😅😅
Back when we first started, I actually used to make design proposals based solely on a client’s Pinterest board. Now I know that this shouldn’t be the case. People don’t know what they want. Even with such a great inspo tool like Pinterest… it can often lead to so many different ideas being save with no cohesive and common thread, unrealistic expectations, and a multitude of unnecessary items, especially if a client has a smaller budget. Cue multiple changes to the DP, many meetings and messages back and forth on where to go, and a lot of wasted time. Now, fortunately, this anxiety of sending off a proposal is much less because 1) I have more confidence in myself and my abilities, and 2) we have a more in-depth process upfront to get to know our clients and what they want better! I was trained to start with a design proposal, but I have learned through our 5 years of being a company that, starting with something smaller like a mood board, will save a lot of trouble on my end of things! Work SMARTER, not HARDER! 💪🏼

… and this is coming from a gal who struggled with weight and self confidence her entire life.
Look, I will always advocate for you to be the healthiest you can be, but that doesn’t necessarily mean dropping the lbs. If you feel the most confident with a consistent workout regime or when you eat clean, you do you!! I just hate the idea that people have to add “drop 15 lbs” on their wedding to-do list. As if you don’t already have enough to do. As if you don’t already have a million things going through your brain on your wedding day. Weight loss doesn’t equal beauty. The most beautiful people are those who are enjoying and living authentically in the moment. The photos will capture that happiness and that glow!

Not sure about you… but over here at Primrose, we’re still pretty obsessed with the new Wicked movie! We made a sister reel a few weeks back honouring Glinda, the Good Witch, but I couldn’t leave you hanging (or flying) any longer. Here is our Elphaba-themed wedding! 💚
Defying gravity AND expectations… think lush, dramatic green decor to honour Elphaba’s iconic hue, a moody, black bridal fit including all of the essential elements — a witches “hat” and cape, shimmering silver shoes, and a smouldering green smoky eye. We’ve added poppies in her bouquet, since they are her favourite after all, and pops of pampas and other dried grasses for a nod to Fiyero and her broomstick. A candlelit dinner and signature green elixir cocktails, really bring it together, creating vibes so bold, they’re practically spellbinding! For Elphaba and all who dare to embrace the extraordinary and unafraid to rewrite the rules. 🖤💚
Did we miss anything? Anyone else out there just as obsessed as us? And, what about you? Would you ever dare to have an Elphaba-themed wedding?

Up next with Primrose’s Holiday Help (I just made that up now) is a tutorial on how to tie velvet bows for your tree!
For those of you who know me know that I LOVE a kitschy, vintage Christmas tree. The multi-colours, the different textures, the memories, and of course the nostalgic feeling it brings. And while these 90s Christmas trees are described as “vintage” (oh god), I prefer to think of them just as FUN. No real colour palette, no rules, any and every ornament you’ve collected over the years, and TINSEL. It’ll be sure to fill that holiday cheer when you turn your tree on at night. Now all we need is Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” to play! 🎄🎶
SO! This tutorial is fairly simple, but it might take a couple of tries and a bit of practice. Don’t worry, you’ll get it in no time. And if you’re planning on having a lot of bows for your tree, well…. there ya go! There’s your practice! Hah! You can attach little wires to these bows, but I was lazy and just laid them on the tree. Remember? NO RULES!
Oh and by the way, these bows also go with pretty much any style of Christmas tree. Want to go traditional with red and gold? Opt for a burgundy velvet bow! Want a peppermint candy-style tree? Go get that 🍭! (PS Michaels is having a buy 2, get 3 free sale at the moment!!) 🎀🎀🎀
Have fun and happy holidays!

Maybe one of the worst decisions I’ve made.. moving 140 white folding chairs from the driving range up a hill to the reception dining room DURING A HEAT WAVE. 😰🥵
I mean, it’s worth it because I hate most banquet chairs, but man oh man, that was tough. Huge shoutout to the crew at @playblackhawk who helped us unload, set up, teardown and transport all rented chairs throughout the day. Ya’ll are the real MVPs!

We love taking old traditions and switching it up just a bit!
Having particular sides for people to sit at a ceremony is old news, but so is making sure your parents sit on the same side as where you’re standing! So… switch it!
Having parents sit opposite allows them to see their child’s face during the ceremony, rather than the back of their heads! I don’t know about you, but as a new parent myself… I will for sure be sitting on the opposite side to see my baby girl’s face as she gets married! Just make sure you let your entire family know at the ceremony rehearsal PRIOR to the wedding to avoid confusion on the day of!

Sometime’s I am just on 🔥! What can I say?!
Haha!! To be honest, this happens not so often… But that’s GOOD! I like the back and forth and making sure the proposal is either exactly what our clients want, or something that they never knew they wanted until they see it! Rarely does an artist get it on the first go… there’s lots of fine tweaking that needs to be done and we want our clients to be so excited for their wedding design!
Aaaaand I really just wanted to use this video edit. Anything with Michael Scott is 👌🏼😂
So, what do you think? Need some help with a wedding design?! You know who to come to! Our 2025 books are OPEN and we want to meet you!

Even though the pandemic is long over, it brought about a trend of small weddings, micro-weddings, and elopements, like never before. Obviously, this was the case because large gatherings weren’t allowed, but it also provided an option for those couples getting married that didn’t want go the route of big weddings. It allowed for a more intimate experience, it typically cost less, and you could travel to unique places. Reasons such as these are why micro-weddings are still super popular. We love a good small wedding, here at Primrose, and here are 4 ideas to consider if planning a small wedding!
