Some of you may know this, but if for any reason you donât⌠all of us at Primrose are #theatrekids and were probably just as annoying as you would guess đ
⌠kidding (not really) but obviously with Wicked coming to theatre this past month, we just HAD to do our own take of Wicked weddings and how we would plan one! We decided to design a Wicked-themed wedding fit for Glinda the Good Witch.
Think pink perfection with glittering gowns, sparkling decor, and an overload of girly glam! đ¸â¨ Picture bubble-filled aisles, a shimmering bubble machine for the first dance, and bridesmaid dresses that scream âtoss toss.â Because if itâs not pink, bubbly, and utterly fabulous, is it even Glinda-approved? We decided to add some yellow into the decor and florals because only the true fans would know about the iconic yellow dress from the stage production.
Anyways, hope you enjoy! Maybe weâll be seeing a bit of this come next season! đŤ§đ
Stay tuned for Part 2: Elphaba coming soon! đđ§đżââď¸đ§š

We love taking old traditions and switching it up just a bit!
Having particular sides for people to sit at a ceremony is old news, but so is making sure your parents sit on the same side as where youâre standing! So⌠switch it!
Having parents sit opposite allows them to see their childâs face during the ceremony, rather than the back of their heads! I donât know about you, but as a new parent myself⌠I will for sure be sitting on the opposite side to see my baby girlâs face as she gets married! Just make sure you let your entire family know at the ceremony rehearsal PRIOR to the wedding to avoid confusion on the day of!

Sometimeâs I am just on đĽ! What can I say?!
Haha!! To be honest, this happens not so often⌠But thatâs GOOD! I like the back and forth and making sure the proposal is either exactly what our clients want, or something that they never knew they wanted until they see it! Rarely does an artist get it on the first go⌠thereâs lots of fine tweaking that needs to be done and we want our clients to be so excited for their wedding design!
Aaaaand I really just wanted to use this video edit. Anything with Michael Scott is đđźđ

Even though the pandemic is long over, it brought about a trend of small weddings, micro-weddings, and elopements, like never before. Obviously, this was the case because large gatherings werenât allowed, but it also provided an option for those couples getting married that didnât want go the route of big weddings. It allowed for a more intimate experience, it typically cost less, and you could travel to unique places. Reasons such as these are why micro-weddings are still super popular. We love a good small wedding, here at Primrose, and here are 4 ideas to consider if planning a small wedding!

âŚ. Makes sense! Everything I do right now is from 9:00 pm - 1 am đ. Good thing I am productive at night!
Busy season is upon us, which means lots and lots of overtime hours for business owners! I know for myself, Iâm in the final orders stages for some clients, design proposal stage for our new clients, and somewhere in-between for the others! Hoping to finish up with our later season weddings ASAP and then itâs smooth sailing from here on out! (đ¤Łđ¤Ł if only!)

Being a new mom and a business owner with a busy season coming up, is no joke! I mean, I could get all deep about it and talk about how I feel emotionally, but for now, letâs just laugh and make funny reels đ
đ Weâll have the real stuff for another time!

2018 Wedding! Donât get me wrong, we absolutely loved our wedding day! Everything was just perfect. But as time has gone on and Iâve learned so much more about weddings and wedding preferences since becoming a planner and designer, here are just a few things that I would change if I were getting married this year!
1. smaller guest count: Nathan and I have always been a small-group type of couple. We had 120 people at our wedding, and I could probably cut that down to 60 today. Nothing wrong with who was invited, I just prefer a smaller and more intimate vibe!
2. more elaborate ceremony altar design: This was a combination of not wanting to hide the view with a ceremony arch and a budget thing. Nowadays, there are so many ground or mid-height arch/floral design options that I would go with (and probably afford with a smaller guest count). I loved what we had, but it was a little simple and kind of got lost.
3. more florals: Similarly to the above change, I was on a budget for florals so I couldnât get too many. I absolutely LOVED our florist (Kelly from @fallforflorals ) and would go with them 100 times over and just order more! Flowers are my favourite part of the wedding design!
4. more desserts: This one was just a miscount on my end. I figured everyone would be too full for dessert and not take too much. But, the kids went through the dessert table first and took nearly half the stuff before anyone else could. đ So, I know now to order more! Also, ice cream. My husbandâs favourite desserts are pie and ice cream and we didnât have either đ.
5. do private vows at our first look: I just love this new trend. I am a pretty shy person, so I think I would have felt more comfortable doing vows just with Nathan. I wouldnât have felt too worried about crying or the things I wrote in them if I knew it would be just us two!
6. no head table: I loved being with my closest friends at a table, but I would probably opt for a Kingâs table style nowada

7 ways you can cut back and perhaps save some money for your wedding!
1. Off-season weddings: may be a little trickier in Edm if youâre wanting an outdoor wedding, but as long as you have a backup (bad weather) option, pushing a little further into October or earlier in April or May may not be a bad idea! Of course, thereâs always the option of stunning winter weddings too! Off season sometimes means cheaper rates and more availability!
2. Choose the right venue! Sometimes it may seem daunting picking a venue that may be more expensive up front, but if it comes with all the tables and chairs that you need, along with decor items, then it may be cheaper to go that route! I would also spend a little more on a venue that has natural character or has been updated/renovated recently. You wonât need as much âstuffâ to make it beautiful!
3. While big cakes may be a stunning piece of art, cake cutting traditions seem to not be as popular as they once were. Opt for a smaller 1-tier cake if you do decide to do a cake cutting and you can use that money elsewhere!
4. Saturday weddings are the most expensive! If you can consider a Friday (or even another day) then you could probably save a few dollars! Especially if you are having a destination wedding and all your guests are travelling anyways! 2 years ago we had a Wednesday wedding and this upcoming summer we have a Monday wedding!
5. Iâm sure youâve seen this everywhere by now, but if you can use your ceremony flowers in your reception, you can save THOUSANDS! Why have your ceremony arch installation only be used for 30 mins?! Bring that baby to the reception!
6. If anything else on this list is a no-go, but you still want to save some money⌠the best place to save is your guest count. If you can cut back on some people, you can save anywhere from $50-$250 per guest!
7. Go virtual! Everything is virtual these days and your invitations donât need to be any different! Not only does it sav
PHEW itâs all done! LETâS DO IT ALL AGAIN TOMORROW!
Itâs actually always a good time! Not every wedding or event is going to run perfectly but with our team, itâs always a good time. Mackenzie, Aly, and I always seem to find ways to bring a laugh to various moments, including ones that make us want to pull our hair out⌠and we may be so tired by the end of it all, but at least we can say we had some good laughs!
Getting to know our clients and see them get to finally live out one of the best days of their lives is such a dream and we are so lucky that we get to be a part of it. Even with coordination clients, who we only really get to know in a short amount of time, can bring tears to our eyes when we listen to their vows of how much they love each other and their promises for forever. Speeches from family members we have never met, still have us fully engaged, and of course, we love to see them let loose and party at the end of it all! Once we know that everyone is good to go, time for us to say BYE and head home for that much needed sleep! Then we wake up the next morning with a non-alchohol-related wedding hangover and donât want to get out of bed for 24 hrs đ¤Ł!
Ready to do it all again next weekend? YUP!
