Parenting has taught me so much over the years and it’s given me a deep appreciation for the little things. When I capture your family, those are the moments I’m always chasing.

The playful giggles, the way hair dances in the wind, the quiet snuggles, and the in-between magic of just *being* together. These are the memories that stick—and the moments you’ll want to revisit again and again, because they make you FEEL something.

Yes, the posed shots are lovely for a card or a frame, but the ones that truly take your breath away? They’re the ones where you’ve forgotten I’m even there, lost in the joy of simply being with your favorite people. That’s where the real magic lives, and I’m here to help you hold onto it forever. ✨

Sometimes, we feel so small and alone, like we’re disconnected from everything and everyone around us. But the truth is, we’re all part of something bigger, woven together by threads we can’t always see.

In those moments, it helps to trust in the ground beneath us—to hold us steady, to remind us that we belong. Our connection to the natural world is always there, a quiet presence, offering comfort and grounding when we need it most.

I believe art is one of the most powerful ways to find our way back when we feel lost. It gives us space to express what words can’t, to share pieces of ourselves, and to rediscover the beauty in others and the world around us.

This image reminds me that even in stillness, even in the darkest moments, we’re never truly alone. We just need to keep searching for the light, the connection, and the magic that brings us back home. ✨

Art is an extension of who we are—the way we see the world, the moments that move us, and the stories we feel called to tell. Authenticity isn’t about following trends or mimicking what’s already been done; it’s about digging deeper, embracing what makes you different, and letting your unique perspective shine.

The truth is, no one else can capture the world quite like you. Your voice, your vision, your heart—it’s all one of a kind.

So here’s to creating with intention, staying true to your craft, and finding the courage to embrace your own light.

Almost 10 years of capturing the grace and spirit of dance feels like both a lifetime and a fleeting moment. As I’ve grown alongside this school, my journey with these students and their stories has been a reflection of my own evolution—both as a photographer and as a person.

I remember when simply delivering high-quality images felt like the pinnacle of success. But now, I find myself stepping beyond what’s comfortable, chasing moments that push my creativity and deepen my connection to this art. This school has been more than a subject—it’s been a partner in growth, a muse, and a second home.

I wish I could bottle these memories: the hum of excitement in the dressing rooms, the twins leading warm-ups with practiced ease, the thunder of feet rushing upstairs before the stage fills with light. I think of Lorraine rehearsing her speech backstage, Bryony hyping her dancers with infectious energy, and Amy gently guiding the little ballerinas as they prepare for their big moment. I see tiny dancers standing brave and brilliant under the glow of the big stage, and watch the seniors wow the crowd, and I feel the weight of time passing too quickly. A decade has slipped by like a breath, and I find myself longing for even the smallest battles—like perfecting a ballet bun—just one more time.

On stage, every performance feels like magic brought to life. To witness it, let alone capture it, has been a gift I will carry long after the curtain falls. My daughter and I have found a home here at .ahead.dance.bc and as our time in this chapter begins to wane, I feel the gravity of each moment more deeply. These photographs mean so much more now—they are more than images. They are memories, anchors to a time that has shaped us both in countless ways.

This journey has been fleeting and infinite all at once. And though I can’t hold onto these moments forever, I will always be grateful I lived them. ✨

The garage light was absolutely perfect — the kind of light that makes your heart skip and your photographer soul nearly squeal. Without a word, he moved to *that* spot, the one I knew would be magic. My dad — the man who doesn’t just indulge my love of photography but truly *gets it.* He’s one of my favorite subjects because he sees the world the way I do, through the lens of light, shadow, and stories waiting to be told.

It was in moments like this, growing up with him and his camera always close by, that my own love for photography was born. I’m endlessly grateful for the passion he passed down to me, for teaching me to see the world as art, and for always stepping into the light when it matters most. ❤️

It’s been colder these past few days but it doesn’t really feel like winter here on the westcoast. Certainly not like last year which is when this image was taken- 1 year ago. I’m not sad about the milder temperatures but my kids are hoping it snows at least once and I wouldn’t be sad about that, if it doesn’t stick around for long. Also, January is for finally editing all the personal photos that built up on my computer over the year. I definitely have less than previous years, as the kids are less into being my subject but I still have a couple gems I’d love to share over the next few days so stick around if you want to see. Hope you’ve had a lovely start to the new year.

“‘Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.” ✨🥺

Welcoming your first baby is an experience like no other—the beginning of a brand-new chapter filled with wonder, love, and so many firsts. Capturing these intimate, in-home moments felt like stepping into the heart of their story—the snuggles, the tiny toes, and that overwhelming sense of *this is where it all begins.*

What a privilege it is to freeze these fleeting moments in time. ✨

Huge thanks to this family for trusting me. ✨

“Our love was made for movie screens” 🎬

There’s something so magical about capturing the in-between moments—the stolen glances, soft laughter, and the way their hands naturally find each other. This couples session felt like a scene straight out of a timeless cinematic love story.

Here’s to love that’s raw, real, and worthy of its own spotlight. 🌙💫
