3/3 “I give back to the community for a living helping w/ system navigation, p*er support and advocacy for 2S Kin encompassing that in my expressions as a model, drag, and keynote speaker.

I've been in this industry for just over 3 years. In five years I see myself as not only successful and more seasoned in my crafts, but a name and brand established worldwide and more immersed in my culture and language. The significance and importance of reclaiming and uncovering 2S roles in culture, representation in our societies, and protecting our Kin. It is the current generation and the next that are our leaders and the 2S play a detrimental role in our survival and sustainability for our cultural identities.

What I contribute to our people and the indigenous community is to be a trailblazer of opening up and holding more two-spirit space for specifically two-spirit Kin and youth and cultivate those spaces to be welcomed and embraced in home communities and in ceremonial spaces and so on."-

⅔ “Overcoming a heavily domestic relationship almost killed me in the midst of heavy addictions interlaced. I had chosen to seek help and go to treatment and my healing journey has been upward and gratifying since. What I learned from this and what I want others to know is that you are not missing out on life and love because of your father being absent. He is missing out on you and you are the greatest gift to your mom and this world. Be kind to yourself and don't be afraid to take chances.

As an Indigenous two-spirit community member, It's not only my blood right to come from such a beautiful tribe and culture, but it is my birthright to be welcome to learn my land, culture, customs, ceremonies, foods, stories, kinship, language, songs, and connectedness to my people.” - Chase Campeau

Tanisi, Wapi Kiniw nitsihikason, Keeseekoose ohci niya (Hello my name is White Eagle, my English name is Chase Campeau and I'm from Keeseekoose FN Saskatchewan. I am Single and a Fur daddy.

This quote speaks to me when I reflect on the darkest times of my life and how everything I thought I wanted; love, a relationship, a car, roof over my head, material things etc. meant nothing if I was truly unhappy inside and was suffering with addictions. It was then that after I turned that leaf that those things really didn't matter; it was my life that mattered and when I gave back to community and people like me, that connection and that gratitude is what really gave me freedom.” -

I am an Artist, photographer, Jeweler and Textile Artist with my main emphasis with Leather Garments. My company is called Bruno Henry Designs. I got involved with that after not being able to find work on the reserve I was living on.

I have been doing my artwork for over 20 years with traveling to various pow wows, conferences and trade shows. I would love to continue to do what I’m doing but just on a larger scale within the next 5 years.

If I could stand for one cause, I think I would stand for the MMIWG2S. With having a daughter of my own and now a granddaughter I often worry for their safety and wellbeing." - Bruno Henry

"My name is Jessica Malcolm I'm Mètis from Manitoba. I don't have any biological children but I have custody of my 17 year old nephew. I've been a makeup & SFX artist and Stylist Professionally since 2015. I have 8 diplomas and certificates in the beauty & esthetician field. I'll be starting my diploma in paramedical tattooing this summer. In 5 years I see myself continuing to expand business and offer opportunities to indigenous youth who are interested in the beauty industry. Eventually expand to have classes/ diploma programs for indigenous students interested in the beauty/ fashion industry.

I decided in 2014 to begin my career in makeup artistry. At that time I was a successful Petroleum engineer, leaving a career where I had a proven track record of success for a career where I knew the market was saturated and competitive. I was told by many people in my life that I was crazy and making a terrible mistake. It taught me that happiness is worth any challenge. I love science, but I love being an artist more. Starting over was scary but I know now that I can do anything I put my mind to

Anytime I'm feeling discouraged I remind myself of how many times I've felt that exact same feeling of dread or felt overwhelmed. And by being able to see that I have in fact overcame every challenge that I've faced thus far, I can keep going. Not everything is going to work out, but everything is a lesson and I'll be a student for life." - , owner of

3/3 "I remember as a young struggling at risk youth, I had to go through a lot of situations through group homes, where they placed me in a lot of situations whether it was in a hotel with someone watching me overnight, sending me to p*e Chad, taking me out of the environment that I was in and surrounded by the people I was at the time and my life was headed no where.

I was struggling with addiction and trying to find my place when it came to friends and community. I just wanted to belong. In the Foster system when there isn’t enough room in a group home you get placed in homes like open custody where other youth have served time, and they are finishing their time in the community.

However because there isn’t enough space within the social services sometimes when group homes have kids that need to be place, they place kids in these environments. I got treated like I was a criminal even though I did nothing wrong.

I think this impacted me in such a great way growing up because I was in such a vulnerable stage in my life and I know that I didn’t deserve to be there, fast forward to now majority of those people that I know within that system, have failed. In life and or never made it alive.

It’s sad to say but these are a lot of the things that I have gone through that helps shape me as a person up until today. Just because I’ve gone through a lot of hardships and maybe I didn’t deserve the situation I was placed in, but they made me a stronger person and I’m able to go through a lot of things and a lot of suffering in a lot of pain and channel it into greater things and never placed myself in effect on mindset. I think that’s done wonders for me." - Jasmine Rattlesnake

⅔ "I’ve lived in the foster system my entire life I have been faced with hard challenges and overcoming a lot of hardships whether it was drugs, homelessness, gang violence, being a young mother at a young age, living on my own since I was 16. Having to grow up faster than most. Unlearning toxic patterns and relearning everything and teaching myself healthy ways of learning and living!

Through all my hardships they taught me just how strong I am and how I can overcome mostly anything that has come my way. There’s a lot of people who don’t make it out of a lot of situations that I have been through, so I Soley believe that I have a voice and it’s meant to be heard and teaching others how to cope and move forward in their own lives is very important for me, sharing what I’ve been through and hoping that somebody else can relate and see that there’s so much more to life than what happens to us , and how that doesn’t define who we are but our choices and how we move forward is crucial to the lives that we want to create.

I apply my lessons to basically everything that I encounter in life whether it’s a new job a new place a new city a new person, it’s giving me a lot of heavy discernment in my life in order for me to make better decisions long-term. We have the ability to create such a magic, and that stems from our culture and our teachings! I would love our teachings to be more accessible to the community for others to be able to experience our traditions and cultures! If I were to chat with my younger self I would tell her you’re going to make it, keep your head up and don’t let anyone tell you any different!"- Jasmine Rattlesnake

⅓ "If you want something you never had you have to do something you’ve never done, I have this tattooed on my chest and it is a very important quote to me because it is help me achieve and persevere through so much. It reminds me that I have to be uncomfortable in order to grow !

My name is Jasmine Rattlesnake from the Ermineskin tribe , Born in Saint Paul Alberta, raised around Edmonton. I have one daughter. Currently,I have a career path selling cars, my focus is helping First Nations get into auto loan so that they improve their quantity of life by building healthy credit ! I’ve been doing it for five years now, I work from home and I sell from BC Alberta and Saskatchewan areas! Five years from now I see myself living a completely different life financially and stability wise. Owning several businesses.

Being indigenous means a great deal to me, especially because I feel as indigenous people we are very spiritual, I most recently started on my spiritual journey within the last year or two of my life and it’s been such a rewarding experience. Being indigenous is honestly so fulfilling to me. I’m so proud to be a strong indigenous woman!

I would like to bring Change up on our community I would like to help others realize their potential when it comes to going through hardships and hard times! I would like to show us that we may go through a lot of generational impact when it comes to trauma but we have the ability to change that no matter what happens to us we are not a victim!"- Jasmine Rattlesnake

3/3 "Well, I've had many. I have had lots of loss and grief. One, my dad passed away. Second, my kokom passed away. These were hard situations for me. Also, my mom was a single mom and that was tough. There were many addictions in my family because of trauma. It taught me to have strength. It taught me to learn how to do things and not make others responsible for my decisions. It also taught me that I don't want to drink. I live a sober life. I love working with children." - Douglas Yellowbird

2/3 "I wish there was no lateral violence within our communities. Our people need to get back to the old ways where communication became the life saver. Without proper communication, we all fall. Lateral violence is the colonized way of doing things. It also causes so much chaos in a person's life. It's not the traditional way. I come from traditional parents. My uncles and kokom is also tradional. I believe to have a good path, you must have focus. Focus on Creator and you will have a direction to walk." -Douglas Yellowbird

3/3 "Your mind and your thoughts are strong when it comes to taking part in ceremonies like my Sundance and dancing jingle. I am always praying for the ones in the hospital, ones who are faced with illness. I dance for those who can't, because I see it every day and see others who would be in the ICU.

My message to my younger self would be to believe in myself, love and care for yourself first, love your brown skin and stay connected to your roots and honour your gifts.

What does being Indigenous mean to me? It's a sense of home and grounding. I found my missing part of me that I struggled to find when I was younger, I can say I'm proud of being Indigenous and feel the pride in me. I would like to help mentor young individuals connect with their culture, guide them to the roots and be a positive role model, influencer in the Indigenous communities.

My mantra is"FOMO- fear of missing out", it's a reminder for myself to do things that scare me, be fearless because life is too short and I don't want to miss opportunities because of being scared or in my thoughts. you can find me on my social media handles are Auntybri on TikTok and Facebook Brittnee S Gladue."-Brittnee Gladue

2/3 "In my whole 30 years of life, I experienced many hardships. However, I was faced with a very hard situation when I was in my last year of my 2nd-year program as an Environmental Technician at NorQuest College.

I had a loved one in the hospital and on life support, I never experienced that kind of pain and being told every week by a different doctor that my loved one was going to pass at any given moment and the odds were very low of survival. The only thing I had left was hope and prayers. For the next 9 months, it was a fight every day, I would sleep at the hospital, I would develop a habit of taking care of my loved one. Supporting them emotionally, mentally, spiritually.

For the remaining fall semester, I was able to do my exams and homework from home on my own time. Then came winter term, I knew in my heart I had to keep pushing, I was able to find a balance between my life, hospital, taking care of two kids and still juggling workshops with Auntie Hood on the side.

During that time, I never once complained about my body, being hungry or thirsty, I was mindful and showed gratitude for what I took for granted and showed appreciation for the simple things in life. This experience made me stronger and appreciate every second of life, and the power of prayers is real." -Brittnee S Gladue
