I re-established my love for writing newsletters and I am committing to send one out each month.

This is where I'll be sharing an update on my availability, info on upcoming new offers and of course everyone’s favourite — information about the brand minis.

1. My name is Angela but I go by Ang and I like it that way cuz it's short and you can't mispronounce it😜⁠
⁠⁠
2. I like to keep things simple in all aspects of life, including my work. My ideal clients are drawn to the simplicity in my edits, which makes me SO HAPPY cuz that's when I know I found my people.⁠⁠

3. When I was 8yo I stole my parents' film camera and took my little sister for a session. Fast forward to high-school I took up a video class and fell head over heels with filming and editing. Since then I couldn't put the camera down, and brigs us to today.⁠⁠

So what happened after I deleted Instagram off my phone?⁠
⁠
1. At the beginning I kept reaching for my phone to open IG - just to be reminded that I deleted it for that exact reason.⁠
⁠
2. It took me at least 3 days to get used to not having the app easily accessible on my phone. On day 3 I also realized I had less clutter in my mind. ⁠
⁠
3. Reducing the mind-clutter led me to feeling less overwhelmed and pressured to keep posting on social media - and because I wasn’t consuming so much content on daily basis, fresh ideas for my business started flowing in again. BEST REWARD EVER!⁠

OK, ANG BUT WHY ARE YOU TELLING ME THIS? ⁠
⁠
Because I want to keep it real with you on this platform. And also because it's a prime example of entrepreneurship: figuring things out as you go and then sharing it with fellow peers to inspire them to do the same 😬⁠

Being in a creative industry and having the social media pressure to “keep creating” can get exhausting. Let this be your little reminder that you just can’t pour from an empty cup. If social media detox has been on your mind for a while, I cannot recommend it enough.

FAQ: What do the mini edits look like? Can you send me an example?

While this is going to be my first time running mini sessions, and I can’t show you exact examples of what it’ll look like... BUT I can give you an idea of what you can expect!

It’s a short edit that tells a tiny story and gives a glimpse into the behind the scenes of your business.

These edits are perfect for website hero banners and social media posts (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn) etc.

Time to get creative! How do you think you will use these in your business?

FACT #1: video marketing is a big investment. Generally, you’ll see the lowest investment have deliverables of at least 1 minute film ⁠⁠

If your video could only do ONE JOB for your business, what would it be?⁠
⁠
— drive traffic to your site?⁠
— sell your product?⁠
— educate your potential customers?⁠
— entertain/connect/relate to your audience?⁠
⁠
If your viewers watched a video all the way through, they demonstrated interest. From here, it’s your job to direct them to take the desired action. This is where the call to action (CTA) comes into play. ⁠
⁠
Think of your CTA as a virtual handshake with your audience — but don’t over complicate it! Ending your video with “to find out more visit here” may be all that you need.⁠
⁠
There’s difference between compelling content, and content that drives conversations with your viewers so they eventually hire you/buy from you.⁠

VIDEO TIP ! (save for later)⁠

Posting a video on social media is very similar to having a conversation — you can only discuss one thing at a time. ⁠
⁠
If you try to cover too much in a short time, you will loose your audience. Best bet is having a call to action in mind, so your message tells a story that leaves your viewers wanting more.⁠

Circa 2016 — 4 hours on a horseback so we can get to this view.

Fun fact: I lived in Ireland in my teen years and during my time there I picked up recreational horseback riding.

I was quite good at it. As a fearless teenager and huge animal lover, I had no problem clearing pretty high jumps. Falling off a few times here and there was the norm, my horse and I were a team so I always got back into my saddle quickly.

I totally miss — although I can’t say I’m as fearless as I was back then. 😅

This week? I am working so hard to try and achieve a goal to deliver 2 edits for clients and get a good chunk of editing done on a third edit project. 💪🏻⁠⁠

So far? It’s going really well (thanks to caffeine). In fact, I thought that I would never be able to power through that much editing in a row but I am loving the progress so far and can't wait to share some of the projects I've been working on!⁠⁠

Her workshops are great because she makes the daunting tasks of bookkeeping and accounting a lot more approachable and fun!
