Loving the language struggle
I’m an avid language enthusiast whose goal is to help build a multicultural world.
The internet has brought us closer to each other and allowed us to pick up valuable skills at the click of a mouse or tap of an icon. Language has since been one the fastest growing sector. With tons of very low cost and free resources, anyone can give themselves a valuable life skill.
Language learning is not longer just for the elite and I plan to take full advantage of that. I have studied over 17 languages so far including Swedish, Irish, ASL and Portuguese to name a few. My native language is English and I’ve attended French school all my life. This is because I grew up in Montreal, Quebec. The first language I’ve learned, and I consider myself fluent in, is Spanish. My Russian and German should be better but I can get by. I do plan of taking proper classes for those two at this point.
I’m working on a project I like to call FRANGLACATION. Unlike 98% of the resources available, Franglacation is not about teaching you French but rather helping you use French. I’ve come to realize that learning is not the issue for most but rather using the language. Through natural, interactive conversations on a variety of topics and small group sizes of no more than 5 people, the goal is to get you speaking and using what you’ve learned in a natural, social way.
