Hey there, friends! It’s me, Meagan.
CEO and lead planner of Siren Events & Co.

It’s been awhile since you’ve probably seen my face and I thought it was time to reintroduce myself!

A few fun things about me:

•A mom of 2 girls and 1 dog.
•A serial hobbyist
•When I’m not working, you’ll find me at an antique mall or a thrift store.
•I love to travel, my heart belongs in the UK
•I’ve been told my superpower is the ability to remain calm in total chaos.
•I posses the “how hard could it be” gene
•What truly makes me smile? Spending quality unplugged time with my 2 year old daughter, and helping people start the next chapter of their lives together.

I’ve been an event planner for over 15 years (my whole life really) and in the event industry for over 10. However, Siren Events will be celebrating a decade of weddings next year.

Choosing accessories…

Between me and you, as a planner, helping decide on accessories is one of my least favourite parts of this job. Mostly because I don’t want to get it wrong! 50% of the time it feels like these pieces end up being an afterthought, then quickly purchased at a bridal store to check it off the to-do list… but they should carefully selected just like your dress!

Working with someone like who takes everything into consideration about your look (features, dress, hair, wedding aesthetic) will give you an elevated look that’s complimentary to everything about your day.

(They’re arguably one of the most photographed aspect of your wedding, because they’re attached to you!)

More often than not you get so caught up in planning every little detail, your guests experience over your own, mapping out every minute of the schedule, you forget the most important part.. to breathe! Take a moment to laugh, relax, enjoy and HAVE FUN! Weddings don’t need to be so serious.

On the topic of details..

If you’re looking for beautiful flat lay detail photos, have a little kit handy for your photographer that would include things like

• invitation suite
• rings/ring boxes
• vow books
• shoes
• perfume bottle
• jewelry/accessories
• coordinating accents
• extra flowers/bouquet

There’s so many fun or beautiful things you could add into them.. maybe a family heirloom, a grandmothers pin, a grandfathers watch, a trinket that means something special to you and your partner, maybe a love letter you wrote to each other when you first started dating, or a little locket with a photo of someone you’re holding close but can be with us on your big day.

Make sure everything gets documented, every little detail.

These warmer days have got me reliving the hottest days of the year last summer. The cooler breeze blowing through this pavilion on July 1st surrounded by fireworks with incredible views was an unforgettable one.

Ps. I got up on a ladder and made those chandelier arrangements branch by branch, because I’d do anything for my clients
