Wine Journeys has partnered with Gilda's Club Simcoe Muskoka to assist organizing their Wine Survivor Challenge Draw. You will support their Cancer Support Program while you try to survive elimination for the opportunity to fill your wine racks. It's a win/win!

HOW IT WORKS
Register by using this link https://forms.gle/xPExa5EAADK5ixkGA and then e-transfer your entry fee of $40.00 to Trent at Wine Journeys ([email protected]). A bottle of wine valued at $20.00 will be purchased on your behalf.

NOTE: We have space for only 100 registrants. You can enter multiple times..
Starting in early December, individual names drawn over several days will be “voted off the island” and out of the draw. At the end of elimination phase, 3 participants will remain as the Survivors (winners). The final 3 eliminations will occur on Monday December 11th at 11:00 am on Facebook Live to determine our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners.

PRIZES
The distribution will be as follows:
• 1st Prize: 50% of the wine

The other winery we visited in Napa shares a connection to the "Judgement of Paris" held in 1976 as well. Mike Grgich worked for Chateau Montelena as winemaker where he made the Chardonnay that came out on top over French White Burgundies in the blind tasting. It made Calfornia Chardonnay an icon worldwide. His winery is beautiful and, yes, the Chardonnay is fantastic, but make sure you taste his outstanding Reds as well.

A little extra video tour of the amazing boutique hotel, the Olea Hotel in Glen Ellen, will be our home on our wine tour. It's a beautiful facility set on the mountain slope with lovely rooms, lots of outside seating, fire pit, hot tub, and pool. Every morning the hotel's chef will prepare a 2 course gourment breakfast for you, and wine and snacks are complimentary in the hotel lobby in the afternoon. It's the perfect place to unwind!

Tasting in Napa at Stag's Leap Wine Cellars was magical! For you wing geeks out there, this is the winery that produced the Cabernet Sauvignon that bested French Bordeaux at “The Judgement of Paris” blind tasting in 1976. I’ve actually included photos of their letter confirming their win. Their Cabs are completely amazing and we fell in love with their Fay Vineyard. One of two wineries visited during our awesome day in Napa.

Frog's Leap Winery is one of the undiscovered wineries in Napa that we will visit on our California wine tour. It produces amazing Cabernets and Merlots from the red "Rutherford Dust" soil and is dry farmed. You really need to try their wines!

Our wine country dinner at another charming restaurant in Glen Ellen, the Glen Ellen Star . A fantastic meal with corkage so we could enjoy a few of the wines we had purchased that day. This restaurant can be found in the Michelin Guide and definitely deserves to be there! You should visit the region and try their amazing food.

You need to experience one of the most unique wineries in Sonoma, which produces beautiful Mediterranean and Italian varietals from some of the oldest vines in the region. These vines have an average age close to 75 years old!

Love discovering these local gems when we travel. Region. Wine Bar in Sebastopol is a must visit. So many amazing Sonoma wines by the glass! Cheers from California Wine country!!

Dinner on our second night in Sonoma was in the charming town of Glen Ellen, just south of Santa Rosa. Most of us chose the Prix Fixe dinner at "the fig cafe & winebar" featuring Duck Confit with one outlier having the pasta with wild boar. All paired with delicious Pinot Noirs from Niagara and California that we brought with us since the have very reasonable corkage. Another night to be remembered!

First day in Sonoma tasting at Bella Vineyards and Wine Caves. Awesome single vineyard Dry Creek Zinfandels, Russian River Pinot Noir, dry, fruity Grenache based Rose, and Sauvignon Blanc.

We were heart broken this week to have to say a final good bye to one of our greatest collaborators (and photobombers), Caila. She was the most tiny, perfect Siamese who gave us 16 years of joy, love, and warm purrs. Rest in peace our beautiful girl. 💔
