Floral tour-everything but the secret ingredient!!
Fellow makers and creative minds, do you ever see something that strikes inspiration like lighting in your heart? Like that moment where the muse doesn't just speak, she screams. I selected each crazily different texture and colour you see here just to match one very special ingredient. Nightowls get this visual treat now-but you'll all have to wait for the full composition tomorrow!
Imperfection! Bumps in the road! Whats with that bar tape!
This weekend I turned 31 and took a beat to look at plants and be around cool people and do bikey things in the most fun ways. This is fun too! Bringing you botanical joys is my pleasure!

Guys. This is it. The big week, the big start! But first let me take you on a journey.
Flower fans will know that dried and preserved flowers have become YUGE this past year, which is great for me! Fresh flowers would freeze and get trashed on the bike in winter. The problem is, a lot of dried and dyed material is produced with materials counter to the entire point of this enterprise: sustainability.
Bleaching plant material is often a multistep process with multiple kinds of bleach and ph buffers to preserve the integrity of the plant material while taking away the colour. Some of these are too brittle after and have added glycerin, and thats all before the dyes, and not even counting that so much of the base plant material is imported.
So I've been working on home bleaching and dying processes, and here are some of my first results! These are sunbleached and natural local hydrangeas dipdyed with added vegetable glycerin to keep them holding up
If I don't have integrity and keep to my values, this whole thing falls apart.
