And to round out the year...a sweet elopement at Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam. The location is extra special to this couple, Shawn & Samantha, who have walked it every year (11!) they have been together when the annual light display is on! This cool fire pit was the location, and just after the ceremony, dusk began and the lights started popping on all over. Five grown sons between them, all present, along with a few extra observers from the public! No matter how small the wedding, it is Always a beautiful moment when promises and vows are made!

And on Saturday, another lovely ceremony celebrating C and P - held at the Old Orchard Hall in Port Moody which was lovingly decorated by all their friends and relatives! This was not the first marriage for both, which was beautifully acknowledged in a reading: "You may not have been each other's first loves, but you will surely be the last".

What a fun and quirky ceremony yesterday for J and P at the Inn at the Quay in New Westminster. Sweet, short vows from "Parks and Rec", plus some great quotes from "Deadpool" really helped tell their unique Love Story! On this Thanksgiving weekend I will help another couple across the threshold into married life - at their favourite time of year - pumpkin time! 🎃🎃🎃. We had a fun rehearsal today, with a Best man who took his job Very Seriously - taking notes on everything and confirming all the arrangements, both with me and with the venue! Lucky groom to have such an organized friend helping out!

Thinking back to the Celebration of Life that I performed on Sunday - we celebrated the life of a truly amazing man, one I was able to describe as a Renaissance Man. His life story was one of talents, changes, transitions from one career to another later in life, and many, many interests, all of which he excelled at. And he used those skills and talents to make the world a better place for others. He was an example of how one person can indeed make a difference. It was such a privilege to honour him in ceremony with his family, friends and community.

Another lovely backyard wedding! So much work went in to prepping the ceremony space, work done with love by family members, especially the Father of the Bride! This lovely couple really brought their emotion to their ceremony - such sweet personal vows to one another, in both English and French. There were tears, there was laughter, there were smiles all around.

Oh how I love to hear from my couples after sending the first draft of their ceremony! Such a lovely message this morning from bride A who said: "I teared up reading this script!!! It's so incredibly different than any ceremony I have sat through and I love every bit of it. Thank you for hearing me out on not wanting it to be completely traditional, funny, involve the crowd, loving type of script. I think what part got me the most was the blessing for F, we really appreciate you including her in our ceremony script."

I love working with my couples to find out all about their unique Love Story so I can weave parts of it into their bespoke wedding ceremony. Part of that process includes a couples' questionnaire that gives me lots to work with. Loved hearing from my most recent couple when they sent back their questionnaire: "Attached is our filled out questionnaire, we have a lot of fun with it, and made us even more excited for the big day!"
