Remembering all that was magnificently SHINE.

Thinking about the thousands of local hairstylists, makeup artists, fashion designers & retailers, models, actors, dancers, drag artists, circus performers and more along with the entire SHINE / Volume Studio team who volunteered in the spirit of giving back.

Because of all of you, we helped remove the stigma related to HIV / AIDS and mental health / addiction while raising funds and awareness for the organizations / societies / foundations / non profits we aligned with.

The SHINE / Volume Studio team and all those who forged together and contributed realised that paying ourselves would mean less for those in need.

For all those who were involved, for all that volunteered and gave freely of themselves, be proud of the difference you made.

Your legacy changed lives.

I am inviting you to join us for a free breakfast while making a donation in support of at-risk women in the community through compassion and kindness by attending a heartfelt community event.

Did you know that 51% of the population that are homeless on the streets of Vancouver Island are women.

Being homeless has its challenges, imagine if you will how difficult it is to be a woman on the streets. The safety and basic needs are endless with minimal resources.

AVI Health & Community Services - Nanaimo Health Centre is an organization that is dedicated to empowering women in need through mutual support and collective action.

They need your help!
Read more about the RED Heart Breakfast in the PDF attached to learn how you can support women in our community.
Join us and SHINE a spotlight on mental health.

By attending the RED Heart Breakfast and donating to AVI, you will become a part of our RED Heart Circle of Supporters. The Circle of Supporters is composed of donors who care deeply about AVI's mission and choose to be involved by donating this heartfelt community event.

John Ferrie:
Vancouver, British Columbia has been his home since he was born. John studied art at Emily Carr College of Art and Design and graduated in 1988.
His love of Vancouver and life on the west coast inspires him. Images flow in whimsy – sweeping brush strokes, fearless colour choices, and intrinsic detail. His medium is acrylic paint on canvas, stylized and potent, in jewel-toned expression. John endeavours to give his subjects their own voice through organic shape and mild deconstruction, evoking this ever evolving part of the world. John's passion for painting drives him. Each piece is a puzzle, and as the work flows through him, the complex equation unravels.
John has been recognised for his relentless art contributions to aid countless charities throughout his career. John's commitment to community he has helped raise a tremendous amount of funds and awareness for HIV / AIDS, Mental Health and more.
IF you have not had a chance to purchase a John Ferrie paining, check out his new show on April 27th at Main Space Gallery (350 East 2ed Ave.
Having a John Ferrie painting in your home or office makes every day a little bit brighter!

World AIDS Day is a reminder of the need to still remember another global pandemic that is still with us nearly 40 years after it began.
On this World AIDS Day, let us remember all those who lost the fight, those who are still struggling, and together stand up against the stigma.
