Only a bit more love was added to the second picture. Sometimes you don’t need to start over if it’s not lookin the way you wanted it to, just take a breather and come back with fresh eyes as Angeleta always tells me. It really helps. Asking why you don’t like it instead of mentally telling yourself “I don’t like it, I can’t make it better, I can’t fix it”… solves your problem quicker. The trick is becoming quick to understand and interpreting what your eyes don’t approve of that your taste can’t identify yet. It could be the shape, the colour placement, the size proportion ratio, the detailing… It really depends. It can even be all of the above. But practising LIKING your own work and being able to create work YOU approve of by yourself is a real art. If your work is still like the first picture and you’re working on elevating your style here is my tip for you! Take one design by anyone out there that you simply adore right now and mentally note all of the small aspects you love about it. These will be the factors most important when determining what you like and gravitate to. The first time I saw clear bobo bubbles in a window front I was amazed. I looked up everyone’s rendition on incorporating bobo balloons and now I use them regularly. But had I not identified what I liked, tried to make my own style many many times over - I still would be in the boat of non-bubble users! I say the same with orbz, florals, chromes, cutouts, backdrops, props in general. You never know what will make balloons come alive for you. So if you see something you love find out why and make it for yourself ❤️ making magic for other people starting by igniting the fire in ourselves!

When your talent is beyond someone’s budget - it’s time to move from the pond to the ocean. You may find yourself struggling to let go of those low budget orders, because if you have nothing big coming in something needs to pay the bills. I get that. But also there is nothing more permanent than temporary. If you keep doing the same small orders those big order won’t come because you don’t make enough room or set aside enough energy for them. People think orders pop up over night and for some people they do - but for the most of us, it takes an impressive portfolio to make a client consider booking with us. So next time you do work.. do your best job yet. And the one after that too. Keep out besting yourself and each job will resemble the last but at a different calibre. Never settle if your vision shows you otherwise. Your work and effort will be noticed. If not by the client that didn’t want to pay extra… then by the next 10 clients that booked you and appreciate your work exactly for that value 💕 Happy Monday ya’ll

That’s how much it’d cost us - would you pay $50? Or vendors - my question to you would be are you willing to or do you put the extra $50 in to make your work double in quality?

This is not even for the jokes - just for the insults 🤣🫠 if there was a $50 or even $100 Amazon kit out there that gave DS, florals, orbz, 260s, actual 3’s… we as vendors would hop on that first! We don’t because it’s evident when we stoop to an Amazon quality balloon as our work and photos downgrade automatically! Yes you can always buy flowers and orbz on the side and add them to upgrade the look - but your latex will never have the shine and opaqueness of brand quality with a kit.
If you know a kit that would be to our vendor quality link me below and prove me wrong 💪🏼
Btw - there’s nothing wrong with Amazon kits as $50 does get you something as opposed to nothing. Just know that professionals are not using general quality balloons, we use the best kind: so you can trust you’re paying for quality.

This one is just for the vendors 😂 how many times has the client thought you need extra help - even when everything is on time, they just don’t realize they can’t visualize the full image until we do our last 30 mins of work 😅👀 sometimes the extra help is extra work to redo everything for us after 🥲 my best advice would be to give a reassuring “everything is going to be ready on time or ahead of schedule” confidently and usually the client gives you your time & space. Clients think in material cost above all & this is usually how they see it 👆🏼I like to break it down in terms of colours, and add-ons. The size of the garland maybe the same, but if you need 5 DS colours instead of 1 DS colour that shoots the price up 3 fold! My biggest tip on a small budget is to stick to one colour and accessorize it with orbz and florals! The magic to balloons is the vision in artistry so don’t be afraid to commit to just one colour- especially when practising!

What happens when what you planned doesn’t happen? Isn’t that the biggest concern most of the times… well there are 3 things I do to help with that either to prevent it:
1. Come with extra materials. Either with what you have on hand for the event bring extra or even things they didn’t order… orbz, bobo bubbles, florals if you have the colour on hand… all of these things the client may choose to go with after - OR you may choose to include just to make the look more appealing visually.
2. Always have your own vision. You are the artist here if you don’t know how to work with the space you’re given then develop the skill through practise or drawing or even photoshopping different props with balloon designs so you can visualize what would make the best design in the given space. (This is something also that comes with a natural eye or time).
3. Be positive. When you create and other people start judging your work 30% complete or giving you ideas or pointers don’t let that throw you off. Trust your process and don’t panic. The look comes together at the last 10% so always be positive and happy when you’re on site - because this is someone’s celebration, and the nerves hit the clients before the vendors, so by contributing to a productive positive work ethic you’ll calm the client down as well as yourself while working.

4bags of 11" = $76
4bags of 16" = $80
Material Total = $156
Labour = $50 (I charge $100/hr, the first version only takes me 30mins so $50 for labour!)
Delivery = $50
Profit = $75 (company's dont just exist to pay employees! There IS always some kind of overhead!)
Total = $331

Now, in version 2, the price is $431, if you notice the same sizes of balloons are used and you actually have enough inventory from version 1's cost to make version 2.. but it would take me let's say an extra hour of actually BEING onsite, so the cost increases to $431.

In version 3 at $516 we introduce the 3's, we have 6 of them, this increases our cost by $35 and let's say it takes 30mins to install them onto the Garland, so we have another $50 labour cost increase as well.

In the final version at $681 we have our 5" and orbz accents, here I allot $75 for the orb expense as I already assume many will pop with this outdoor heat! And the 5" @$10/bag, for 4 bags = $40 plus another 30 mins of our time for detailing so another $50. The total cost for this step to get from version 3 to version 4 is $165!

Getting to know Affinity photo helped me make photos like these, where I can show different options without actually doing all the work. Rearranging colours can be frustrating on the job so sending a client preinstall mock-ups really helps the process!
