Ryan Reynolds has always shown pride in Canada—not just for where it is, but for what it stands for 🇨🇦

Kindness. Respect. Looking out for each other.

That’s what truly defines a nation—not borders, but behavior.

Canada isn’t perfect, but it’s the values we try to live by every day that make it special. And that’s something worth protecting. ❤️

Recently I was looking at some wedding photo's of a Bride walking down the isle in a church. As she progressed down the isle her dress train and veil were wider the the isle. The train and veil folded inward on top of the train and veil as she proceeded . In this instance the Bride needed someone to fold the extra material from the train and veil and place it under the train. By doing this the train will have nice clean lines. When the Bride arrives at the alter the maid of honour can adjust the veil and train accordingly. just my opinion miss Jude

I've been thinking about alterations. You might think that you only want to add or make a small change to your dress. Any additions or deletions you make to your dress is a big deal primarily because once they are done there is no going back Always research what you think you might want done. That sexy little slit to your dress might be something you are serious about. Once you start researching the slits on other dresses you will notice where the slit falls on your leg. The position could be dead centre or more to the side on your leg. Does the slit has top stitching etc. My other observation is "how high is too high". When you sit down that slit will probably creep up higher. Request to speak directly to the seamstress and have the alterations estimate in writing. Make sure you clearly communicate what you want to have done and that there is a meeting of the minds. Ask around to friends and family who they have used for their alterations or if they can recommend someone. Price is always a factor, but the quality of their work should be the deciding factor. If possible I would want to see some of their altered garments and check the seams etc.

Buying a veil online. You can buy veils online but here is something to consider. A Bride bought a veil from overseas and was so happy to purchase a cathedral veil with lots of lace. The Bride told me "it was so cheap." Upon inspection the Bride saw that the tulle was torn in numerous places. It was possible to repair the veil by removing some of the lace and putting it over the tears. That would be delicate work and not cost effective if you had to pay to have someone fix it. So if you are considering to purchase a veil from overseas be sure to inspect it carefully when it arrives and choose a seller that has a return policy.

What is happening with Bridal Fashion for 2025? I am going to call it "Let it Flow." Bridal gowns are flowing A-line skirts and Ball Gowns made with materials that dance as you walk. New is Illusion tulle wrapped once around your neck with longtails. Shawls that blend into your dress train and detachable skirts. Bows are large and are made to be seen. Pearls, pearls, pearls. For your Bridal inspirations look at the Bridal Fashion shows from designers that are showcasing in Europe .

I have been watching Bridal Fashion shows online for the 2024-2025 season. Some of the designers have been creating some beautiful gowns with more boning and sheer materials. Two Shows really made an impression on me. Justin Alexander's show in Milan for 2025 Spring Bridal Wear was a standout. His collection really pulled ahead of the rest by adding color to his gowns and veils. Of course some of his veils and gowns were not my taste but remember it is about offering something new. Secondly I saw my first Sposa Curvy Bridal Collection from Milan for Spring 2025. I can tell you, I have seen over 20 runway Bridal Shows lately and these two really stood out. If you are looking for your Bridal Dress check out the runway shows featured online.

Recently I was in Brisbane Australia. When I travel I like to look at their Bridal mags and bring some different ones home. Interestingly enough Brisbane no longer carries Bridal magazines. Every book stand and retail store I checked had an empty shelf with a small sticker saying "Bridal Magazines." I happen to chat with a destination Bride at Brisbane airport when I was coming home. I asked her if she had noticed that there were no magazines and how did she purchase her dress. The Bride said "I never thought of looking for a Bridal Magazine. I just went on line and ordered my gown." I believe there is still great value in going to a Bridal shop, trying on different styles of dresses and ordering from the Bridal store. Most of us have some experience ordering online. My advise is to do your due diligence. When you are ordering from the internet are you dealing with an online store or buying directly from the designer? Make sure you are placing your order at least six months before your wedding date and that they have great return policies, etc.

I've been working with butterflies on my veils for several years. It was really great to feel like I was a head of a trend when I opened a Canadian Bridal Magazine last week and there was a veil with butterflies. Brides when you are looking at Bridal dresses or veils that have 3d flowers, butterflies, birds etc, those details are usually hand sewn onto the garment or veil one at a time.
