Hoping everyone had a beautiful weekend!

Huge thank you to everyone who came out to the classes for Thanksgiving - I love seeing you all create beautiful things!

The pumpkin centrepieces were a big hit and you guys had me cleaning pumpkins for hours…it’s my favourite season and I’m already looking forward to next year! Thank you 🫶🏼

Happy September Long!

It’s time for me to take a little break after a busy summer season! We’ve got a house to paint and I’m taking a few days off before we start our busy fall season.

2009 to now. The first $20 I ever made being self employed and the most beautiful location from a 2023 wedding.

I have worked in flowers since high school - I was in the Co-op program at The Flower Forest, then onto for my diploma in Production Horticulture with a specialty in Floristry, spent the summer after college at The Secret Garden in Dryden, worked in Calgary for Rose at the Enchanted Florist and then to Didsbury where I worked for Gord at Victoria’s Flowers where the fun was nonstop…but I felt like I needed a change …..I left that job to work in an office…and I did…for 5 years…while doing wedding flowers from home on the weekends.

I always knew I wanted my own business, I knew I wasn’t meant to work 9-5 for someone else. In 2009 my sister and I drove 15 minutes to Carstairs and when we left the shop she said “I think you need to buy that shop”….we drove home and I told my fiance(now husband) that I wanted to buy the flower shop and work for myself….not hesitating at all he said “do it!”….the rest is history. 15 years of Sparkling Dahlia history but over 20 years of flowers.
That’s the Cole’s notes….if you’re self employed you know the road isn’t easy but it’s worth it. Here we are….15 years of official Sparkling Dahlia. The memories are priceless and endless. Thank you for being part of my story. Thank you for supporting me and my “little” dream….turns out it’s not so little. 💛
