Jeffery Lundstrom, a prairie born boy went to work one day and fell from a scaffold, the year was 2000. After being mostly bed ridden for a year, heavily dependent to narcotic pharmaceutical pills for pain relief, Jeffery made the choice to try to find a different way to help manage his pain. The pills had taken over his life, unable to function as a productive member of society; He found that Cannabis could help him to help manage the pain, leaving the pills at the pharmacy, the prescription never be refilled again. Living in an agricultural mecca intrigued him to try to start growing on his own. Knowing that he could grow his own Cannabis could help him get off the pills, inspired Jeffery. He started growing his own, behind closed, locked and possibly guarded doors of course, as he had no legal rights to do so. In 2005 after the 3 yearlong battle his younger sister lost her life to cancer. This only inspired Jeffery to help others fighting their own battles of cancer now.
Living in Saskatchewan he had limited access to physicians who believe that Cannabis can help. 2005 he made his first application to Health Canada for his Cannabis prescription, he was denied; 4 applications with 4 different doctors later still nothing. During his application process for his own cannabis prescription, he in 2008 was granted to be designated grower. Designated grower was foot in the door, knowing that he can grow his own Cannabis and this would help others have safe clean medicine, helped him continue to strive for own Cannabis prescription. In 2011 Jeffery found a physician in Regina who after paying him a nominal fee would finally write him a prescription. This helped open a whole new world for him; one that would take him on a journey that would change his life.
Since 2008 Jeffery has had opportunities to not only grow his own high quality cannabis but has been able fine tune his skills in becoming a master grower. To reach this level of growing you must know and understand the plant itself, its linage, what strains work best for his own pain as well as what doesn’t work for his own body. Being a master grower one must know how to tell if the cannabis is flushed properly, cured correctly, seeds verses clones, what medium is best to grow in, bugs, fungus, and the other many trials and tribulations that one encounters in this type of endeavor. While on this journey not only did his knowledge grow, but his network of people grew. His has a vast network of master growers, Cannabis patients, as well as Cannabis activists across the globe to call upon if ever required.
Jeffery Lundstrom the owner of Skunk Funk Smokers Emporium in Saskatoon, a shareholder in Cannabis Culture, and the creator of Dab Out as well as the Four-20 founder of the Prairie Medicinal Harvest Cup dubbed “Canada’s friendliest cup”
