You’re creating a full venue in a place that isn’t one! Think: power, lighting, rain plans, bathrooms, catering/bar access, noise bylaws, a day or two of set up and take down…

Just me, talking to myself in the car again!

But seriously, venue visits aren’t a junket to wander around beautiful places. This is a crucial step (and often takes several visits) when I assess logistics, flow, lighting, power, access etc and catch all the small things that matter - months before the event so nothing is left to chance.

Please remember that choosing a venue isn’t just about how it looks. It’s also about how it works. We don’t do guesswork. We plan with real information, real spaces, and real strategy.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the work I do - and why I do it. Sometimes I wonder if people truly see it or value it the way I FEEL it. Because this isn’t just a job. It’s not something I do simply because I’m good at it or because it allowed me to build a business.

At the core of everything is connection.

It’s the connection I get to build with my clients and the incredible vendors and venue teams, and the connections I get to create for others. Whether it’s a networking reception, welcome party, multi-day wedding, fundraising gala or a conference, I care deeply about crafting moments and spaces that feel meaningful.

Sometimes that looks like joy and celebration. Sometimes it’s a quiet moment where someone feels seen, heard, or able to simply pause and take it all in.
Humans NEED connection. It’s how we make sense of the world, how we learn, grow, and feel part of something bigger than ourselves.

Life moves pretty fast but if I can help create even one moment where people stop, breathe, and truly connect with the people around them, then that means everything to me.

THAT'S why I do what I do.

The spaces are set up beautifully. The flow is magical. The music, ambiance, and every bite and sip are perfectly timed.

What you DON'T see are the countless emails, calls, and detailed check-ins happening behind the scenes in the weeks leading up to your wedding or event so there IS this beautiful and effortless feel. We manage every moving part (and anticipate any issues and have plans B, C, and D in our pockets 😉)

Here’s just some of the invisible workload your planner carries so you never have to:
• Keep vendors on track, even when they’re late, stressed (or heaven forbid, haven't read the outline they're provided with!)
• Consider guests who are older, pregnant, or need extra care or comfort
• Handle last-minute (and sometimes unrealistic) guest requests - without it ever reaching you
• Solve real-time logistics like weather changes, layout shifts, last minute cancellations or additions, or transportation hiccups
• Make sure all personalities and emotions stay in check, with grace (yours, and your family's, and sometimes - your guests 😉)

My job? Make any messy stuff invisible so the joy takes center stage.

You’ll never see me run. You’ll never hear me raise my voice. From the outside, I’m calm, collected, and in control. But inside? Think of a duck gliding across a pond while it’s little legs paddle furiously underneath - that’s me on your event/wedding day! 🦆

I’m constantly:
☑ Anticipating issues before they happen.
☑ Solving problems faster than you can notice them.
☑ Coordinating multiple vendors, personalities, and weather plans… all at once.
☑ Keeping the flow seamless so you and your guests don’t feel a single hiccup.

That’s why investing in an experienced planner isn’t just about fancy timelines or meeting a venue’s requirement to hire a coordinator. It’s about investing in a professional who knows how to anticipate needs (and issues!), can adapt and act on the fly, and someone who absorbs the stress so you don’t have to.

Every couple wants their wedding to be special, joyful, and memorable - no matter the scale or budget.

What people often don’t realise is that a wedding IS a production! The hundreds of hours behind the scenes (and often over years!) that go into planning, decision making, flow, design, guest experience, logistics, plans A, B, C, and D, and management of the day often with a team of 20+ vendors. And do-overs are not an option!

From event day hiccups, last minute surprises, to true wedding-day plot twists, I’ve seen (and solved!) it all. After a couple of decades of being a planner, it truly takes a lot to faze me.

I’m often asked what my ‘style’ is for the events and weddings I plan. Truth is, it’s not about me. It’s about what feels true to YOU - this is your story, your people, your priorities.
Every detail should reflect YOU - not what’s trending or what I’d choose for myself.

My job, is to listen closely, translate your vision (or help you dream a vision up!) and make it happen. Beautifully, and authentically.
