More classic in style than her fiancée's attire but just as gorgeous and perfectly suited to her personality, Joyce's dress was timeless and elegant. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​That slight puff sleeve paired with the deep-v neckline allows for classic and modern details that feel just right together. We talk a lot about encouraging couples to be authentic to themselves and their stories and Ange and Joyce got it oh so right which I’mm sure you’re starting to see over the last few posts. One important element was to include Joyce’s heritage in their day with a traditional tea ceremony before the western ceremony and reception. Even their dog, BooBoo, was SO excited to join in on the fun!

When brides Angelique and Joyce said their wedding theme was ‘Upstage The Brides’ I was immediately on board. I could already see it all unfolding in my mind. Something bold, colourful, joyful, sparkly and big and over the top while blending cultures and two personalities in a balanced and appropriate with the formality of a wedding. When I saw the Save the Date design they had done, I knew there was so much I could pull from it. I still get so excited as I share these photos and I hope it comes through over these next few weeks!

I don't think I'll tire of sweet tables any time soon. They serve as an opportunity to satisfy all the guest cravings in a beautiful way. I've rarely seen a sweets table with many leftovers at the end of the night and even if there, we can be real in admitting we're going to eat them for breakfast the next day, right? This sweetheart table setup is one of my favourites we have done . We used a 48" round table to offer a more intimate setting for Michelle and Keith and repurposed all the flowers from the ceremony to make it feel like they are in the middle of a garden. It wasn't until the wedding day when we were setting up the table that Alex, our florist, and I had the idea to offset the table from the fireplace to balance out the heaviness from the floral baskets on the ground. A small change with big impact and we love how it turned out!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Florals

I'm so glad terracotta was a popular colour last year. It carries some depth but brightness and feels really comfortable and inviting. It looks incredible with so many colours like green, buttery yellows, peaches, pinks, even blues and purples so it's super versatile. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​I love how used it on the place cards to sit atop the menus because it stands out against the green patterned plates - both strong designs but complimenting each other, too.

And we can't skip past those incredible floral edge centrepieces by . This is a favourite wedding from last year.

A huge mistake couples and florists make is having centerpieces that are too big for the size of the tables, especially rectangular ones that are only 30" or 36" wide. Perfectly scaled floral arrangements are important when tables are narrow and always gets it right. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
